A few cards, a few challenges....

And here we are!! I have two cards to show you right now and I must say I really like how both of these came out. I really need to tell you guys something though. I do a lot of challenges and I just wanted to tell you why.

I have a shed I work in - it's 10x16 and I must say I have been blessed with what I have been able to accumulate scrapbooking wise. There's at LOT of STUFF in there! I do the challenges and combine them because it limits me. And for me, I am more creative that way. I have paper upon paper - but if I know I can only use blue or pink or yellow - depending on the challenge - it actually makes it easier for me to accomplish the task because I have less choices. Now I am sure it's not this way for everybody, but I figured I would explain why I do it. But above all - I ENJOY IT!!

Enough blabber - I know - just tell me to shut up....here's the cards!

Love Card:
  • 365 Cards asked for an anniversary card today. (Happy Anniversary Pam!) There was a catch - the predominant color had to be white! Well, with a little help from my embossing folder, I think this one just came out cute and lovely.
  • The Pink Elephant had a recipe challenge - three buttons, two layers, one sentiment. I am not 100% sure LOVE counts as a sentiment, but I am thinking it is quite a strong one.
  • A new one - All Sorts - color challenge of pink & white! Love love love it!! (so the card says! LOL)

Butterfly card:
  • The sketch is from Paper Blooms this week - it was a really cute sketch - I just had to try it!
  • 365 Cards asked for Fabric (Thursday I think). This one took me a while - I don't think I have ANY fabric in the house. Then I found this little applique butterfly on denim - I was thinking it was PERFECT!
  • That little butterfly makes it perfect for Danni's Flutterby Wednesday challenge!
  • Cute Card Thursday asked for punches or die cuts (now that's a challenge made for ME!!) This card happens to use the QuicKutz 4x4 Flourishes dies - one of my favorites. They will probably see more card from me this week with that challenge!!

And that's might be all you see from me today. I need to work on the PILE IT ON challenge for tomorrow - OUR FIRST CHALLENGE - be sure to head over there and check out the start of the blog - there's BLOG CANDY to be had!!!

Such pretty cards. I love the layers of the second one & you can't go wrong with cuttlebug embossing so the first rocks too TFS

well, these are just fabulous, Vicki! Love how you used the embossing folder on the white cardstock - that completely jazzes it up and definitely keeps it from anything but "plain, old white" - perfect job!

Great cards Vickilyn. Looking forward to playing at Pile it On.

I have to agree with you about your comments. I have a very small craft room which has got way too much stuff in it according to hubby. I find that the sketches in particular help me with layout so I can concentrate on materials and the challenges help me focus at making a specific card rather than just sitting in front of my stuff waiting for something to inspire me.

Thanks to you I have even more challenges to go to now :)
