In the Limelight...

is this card!!! (that's one of the perks of doing the Limelight challenges - it's a great segue!)

Onto the nitty gritty....
  • Obviously, there's a Limelight challenge going on here. In this particular case, they provided the sketch and also requested you use rhinestones. (All those little dots on the card are rhinestones - might need to see if I can get a better photo!)
  • 2 Red Bananas asked for 3 different patterned papers - there are actually four here.
  • CCEE Stampers asked for flowers
  • Creative Inspirations asked for four different patterned papers - which there are.
  • Paper Blooms asked for three flowers
  • A Spoon Full of Sugar asked for a butterfly.
  • Flutterby Wednesday this week said - butterfly and sketch - any sketch
  • Daring Cardmakers gave me my color combo of orange, red and yellow.
  • The SCS current Ways To Use It challenge is crinkled cardstock. Now I have been making these flowers since I saw the Prima lollipops come out, so I knew this challenge would be great for me!
  • And somebody out there asked for hand made flowers, but I can't remember who - as soon as I do, I will edit! LOL These were created by punching circles (all were punched from the two sizes of Creative Memories circle punches), wet, crumpled and put together - the brad actually holds them together.
And that sure is plenty enough for this one little card to handle!!! I have also completed today's 365 Challenge of Grass Inspiration - however, it's out in the shed, so the post will just have to wait until tomorrow! (actually, later today.....)

Inspired!

A bunch of pretty flowers - signals that spring is here, don't you think? I got the inspiration for this card from Lee! (Be sure to congratulate her - she just made the design team over at Gina K!) Her challenge for the Limelight Anniversary Party was a picture of four different flowers - I LOVE FLOWERS!

The second challenge this is for is 365 Cards. Today they had a color challenge of blue, pink and orange. The white flowers have Swarovski crystal centers and the colored flowers have the new Pebbles Candy Dots - I got those at CropStop.com. The sentiment is Verve (as usual!)

As I continue to pile on my challenges - I need to remind you of the new challenge blog that is coming on Sunday - PILE IT ON! I understand that if you become a follower (nothing else) you will be eligible for blog candy!! So run on over there, become a follower, and on Sunday you'll see a new challenge come up!

Limelight Photo Hunt

Limelight is celebrating it's FIRST ANNIVERSARY! And they are doing a bunch of games - so head on over and join the fun! The only "rule" here, I believe, was they had to be PHOTOS!

In no particular order - here's what they asked for:

FOUR - This was probably the hardest one...

SOMTHING YUMMY - What better than Key Lime Pie for Limelight!

CAT NAP - Now I don't think I could sleep this way, but....

Three Challenges!!

I am loving this card! When I started it I was trying to hit two challenges - The Pink Elephant (stamps, punches and embossing) and Jen's SFYTT. I realized as I finished that I had also hit the Limelight Challenge - green/tree/recycle. Obviously, I hit the tree part!!

For the Pink Elephant Challenge...the sqaures were cut out with my Creative Memories Square punch, the brown cardstock under the tree is embossed with the Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes embossing folders and obviously the tree is the stamp.

I do love the way it came out. The cardstock is Bazzill, papers are We R Memory Keepers, the stamp is Unity's Dream tree (who doesn't love this stamp), KaiserCraft rhinestones, and the ribbon was in the stash.

Short post, but I have time to create, so I want to get to it. As always, thanks for stopping by! Hope to see you back tomorrow!

Size Matters

Catchy title, huh??? There was a sketch challenge over a Limelight Papercrafts - use the sketch and make it Manly! So here it is - I took this opportunity to use my Twisted Sentiments set from My Favorite Things...and the extra large !!! is from Unity Stamps. Limelight has a gread selection of Unity Stamps available - this particular set is not currently showing as available over there, but they do have a great selection of Unity Stamps!

I do like the way this card came out. I was trying to multi-task while creating it, so I guess it's just lucky to be here! The colors were manly and I think the little screw brads at the bottom were perfect for this Manly Card!

Thanks for looking and be sure to check out Limelight!

  • Stamps: Unity & My Favorite Things
  • Ribbon - May Arts from All that Scraps
  • Base - DCWV

Limelight Sketch!

For World Card Making Day, I was able to squeek out one card. In this case, it was a card for my daughter, who I had to take to the ER last night. (can't tell you why, there's blog candy below!)

Anyway, this card is made with the Limelight sketch. Of course, after reading the entire challenge, I think I could be disqualified. It was supposed to be fall or Halloween. Now, I have an owl and green, which says fall-ish to me, but I am probably PUSHING the limits!! Anyway, it's a cute card and my daughter likes it too! I guess that's really the important part here.

Thanks for looking and I hope you all had a GREAT World Card Making Day!
