Masculine CPS

As we all know, masculine cards are not the easiest to make - at least that's how I see it. The cardmakers who LOVE making masculine cards are few and far between. I don't dislike, they just don't "flow" as easily for me as the non-masculine.

Anyway, one of the ladies I work with requested a masculine birthday card. So, I made one! This one uses this week's CPS sketch and also works for Rosie & Dee's challenge of Embossed Stamping. The Happy Birthday 2U is Lizzie Anne Designs.


The other stamps used on this card - the Diamond Plate, the drill in the background and the Happy Birthday inside stamp are all from Clear Dollar Stamps. I have had these screw brads for quite a while and they went PERFECTLY with this card! I thought "screwing" the inner sentiment crooked would be cute, so I did! lol I hope she likes it and if not it will go into my stash as it is short on masculine cards!!

Clear Dollar Stamps Color Challenge

As a former DT member for Clear Dollar Stamps, they do hold a special place in my heart! I noticed they were doing a color challenge and I went for it! The "sketch" is actually an oldie from Triple the Sketch. I saw it on one of the DTs blogs today, so I figured I would use it. I believe it is #9 and since I was doing it from memory, I might be off slightly. :)




Anyway - here are the details. The actual color challenge was Old Olive, More Mustard and Chocolate Chip. Now, I am actually a former SU demonstrator, so I do have all the markers, so my coloring of the image is using the actual colors. I don't have any of the papers anymore, so I matched the papers to my coloring and this is what I came up with. Of course when I reread the challenge, I was already past the due date and was supposed to use a stamp from Clear Dollar (which should have been obvious! DUH!) so it really didn't count for anything, except I now have a nice card to send to somebody special!


The stamp is from Unity (I love that stamp!) The cardstock is actually Bazzill. I used my Nestabilites to cut out the image. The ribbon came from the dollar bin at Michael's, the button from my stash and the flower is by Bazzill as well (I think). I made the stick pin.

Welcome Back Mojo! Time for a 2-fer!!

Hey there and welcome back! If this is your first time here - welcome! You're in luck, because my Mojo is now working just fine!!

I have a new card to share this evening - it's a challenge two-fer!! First, it's this weeks (#36)color challenge from the Color Throwdown blog (pink, orange and turquoise) and it's also this week's sketch challenge for CPS! On top of that I was able to use my Clear Dollar Stamps for which I am a past guest designer for, and I also used an Apron Strings Designs kit to make it! So all in all, it was pretty productive all around! Oh - and I used my nestibilites which were purchased, as always, from CropStop.com.

It's a nice bright perky card - it's a get well card for my daughter. She's 17 and has had abdominal pain for almost a week now and unfortunately the pain isn't getting better. She actually has to go for a colonoscopy and an endoscopy. Luckily she doesn't read my blog or she'd probably kill me for putting that information into blogland for all the world to see. I won't tell her if you don't! :) LOL

Anyway - I am liking it and I hope you do too!

Did I promise you another Bag Tag?!!?

Here it is!! This one is for my son who will start first grade this year. I intend to put his contact information within the tag so that if he (or his backpack) get lost, he is identifiable! Hopefully, it'll never be needed!

Anyway, this one is made using the new Clear Dollar Stamps crayon stamp. I actually flipped the stamp over and used the WRONG side of the stamp to stamp the light "colored in" part of the crayons (I know you love all these technicaly terms! LOL) I actually "stamped off" first, so as to not use the ink at full strength. I then turned the stamp over, and stamped the right side of the stamp full strength to give you the details of the crayon! I love the effect! Almost like I can't color inside the lines!! (I love the pun there!) I again used my Clear Dollar Stamps Silly Alphabet (again, only $7.99 for 99 pieces) to stamp my son's name on the tage. Ribbon is again from the stash!! Can you tell we like orange around here?!?!?!
