Three Challenges!!

I am loving this card! When I started it I was trying to hit two challenges - The Pink Elephant (stamps, punches and embossing) and Jen's SFYTT. I realized as I finished that I had also hit the Limelight Challenge - green/tree/recycle. Obviously, I hit the tree part!!

For the Pink Elephant Challenge...the sqaures were cut out with my Creative Memories Square punch, the brown cardstock under the tree is embossed with the Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes embossing folders and obviously the tree is the stamp.

I do love the way it came out. The cardstock is Bazzill, papers are We R Memory Keepers, the stamp is Unity's Dream tree (who doesn't love this stamp), KaiserCraft rhinestones, and the ribbon was in the stash.

Short post, but I have time to create, so I want to get to it. As always, thanks for stopping by! Hope to see you back tomorrow!

12 Days of Christmas - #11

Okay - since you are here today, I am going to guess you may have seen yesterday's post - if not, see below! :)

This is Challenge #11 - Metal. Yesterday I showed you challenge #10 (yes, I did skip challenges 8 & 9 if you are paying attention - I will get into my reasons later in this post, so PLEASE keep reading - I wouldn't want the suspense to kill you! LOL)
As you will see I did use three metal star brads (there are also three of these on challenge #10) and that little plaque is also metal! This layout again is a combination of the Apron Strings Designs Smaller Than a BreadBox kits from Decmeber, 2007 and August, 2008. This layout also uses Jen Del Muro's SFYTT. It really is a simple layout and I kept looking at it thinking it's missing something, but it is all about the photographs - so instead of fussing with it - I let it be!
So the two pages together look really nice and I will try to see if I can get a photograph up of them together. Those two kits happen to coordinate very well together.

So come back tomorrow - Challenge #9 - to use 9 embellishments will be up - it also happens to be the Friday Weekly challenge over a CropStop.com, so be sure to check over there as well to see what's going on over there!!
As always - thanks for visiting. I really do appreciate the face that you have taken time out of your day to come and see my creative musings!

12 Days of Christmas #10

Hey there - welcome back for the next installment of the 12 Days of Christmas over at Apron Strings Designs!! This is challenge #10 - which was to make a Masculine Layout. Well, this is my 6 year old - Devin - playing in the fountainn in Boston this past summer (I really need to date this layout). Challenge #11, which I will show you tomorrow, is the second page of this two page spread and was to use Metal. So in essence, each of these two layouts incorporation metal & masculine, but we weren't technically allowed to combine challenges, so I had to pick one for each - obviously not a big deal since they both fit the criteria...anyway, I will stop rambling and tell you more about the layout.
So - for Apron Strings Designs - Challenge #10 - Masculine. It combines the December, 2007 and August, 2008 Smaller than a Bread Box kits from ASD. It also happens to be Jen Del Muro's SFYTT (both layouts are actually as you will see tomorrow). DEVIN - is made with the QuicKutz alphabet - available at CropStop.com.
So be sure to come back tomorrow to see the other half! Thanks for visiting!!

More Grand Opening Items

This was a challenge from one of our Design Team Members - Dalis - during the CropStop.com Grand Opening Celebration last weekend. She challenged us to make two ROUND cards - now, I like circles as much as the next person - but I don't generally make cards in that shape! (I like squares!!) Needless to say, I was out of my comfort zone, but I think I did okay.
This first one is used with the largest round Nestability die and the 12" scalloped border die from QuicKutz, Cuttlebug D'vine Swirls embossing folder, black grosgrain ribbon and that ribbon slide is from Clear Dollar Stamps.
This second round card is using the largest Scalloped Circle Nestability, swirl organza ribbon (soon to be available at CropStop.com) and I embossed this Stampin' Up snowflake with a white and silver glitter embossing powder purchased at the local Michael's.

The last picture is a card using Jen del Muro's SFYTT from I believe the week before - so October 23rd (I think). It uses the CropStop Crafty Kit and Cornish Heritage Farms snowman stamp from the Heart Warmers set by Kim Hughes! Sorry the photo is fuzzy - I am working on better lighting so I don't have to count on Mother Nature!

As always - thanks for stopping by!
