Verve Project Parade

I did this ADORABLE little box and candy for August's Verve Project Parade. It was inspired by a coffee advertisement above and the challenge is to use pinks and browns. Since there were several coffees listed in the advertisement, one of them being Triple Chocolate Mocha - I figured using the chocolate made it a double inspiration!!

The box is an oragami fold! Really simple and if anybody wants/needs the directions, I can either write them or find them for you! :) Just let me know.

Items used: CTMH patterned paper, Nestability Ovals and Scalloped ovals (purchased at
www.cropstop.com) and the Verve Stamps!!! (the challenge does not HAVE to have Verve stamps, but I assume they really like it when you do!)

As always, thanks for visiting!!

Courtney's Closet

I had stumbled about this blog, through another blog - and I really couldn't tell you whose, but I love the challenge - it's an inspiration challenge on a cute little baby girl in the cutest clothes! You know how cute baby girl clothes are!!! Okay - that was rambling, even for me! lol

Anyway, if you hop over to Libby's Little Addiction, you will find the picture of the cute little baby in the cute little pink dress!

Here is the card I came up with based on this cute little dress!!!

I got the paper from Michael's - it was actually a HUGE box of paper - 250 sheets on sale for $9.99! The ribbon and white cardstock are both CTMH. The flower within the ribbon is another of my crocheted flowers - this one small and daisy-like. I also made the stick pin! I have seen those pins all over the place and were expensive, so I made my own!!
This card will shortly be on it's way to Christa. I want her to see my flowers and pins in action!

As always, thanks for visiting!!

TRIPLE PLAY!! *blog candy too*

I LOVE it when I can combine challenges!! This one is three in one -
Papertake's Weekly Challenge - Buttons
CPS - layout/sketch
Libby's Little Addiction "Courtney's Closet" - color combo/flowers

This is an Apron Strings Designs kit - Kaisercraft papers. Oval slide was made from a Boss Kut die and letters are the QuicKutz Lemonade alphabet - both purchased at http://www.cropstop.com/. I crocheted the flowers myself.

Which makes me say - time for some blog candy! Take a guess as to how many flowers I crocheted today while the Nascar race was on - you don't have to be right to win - and I will randomly pick someone and send them some flowers!

As always, thanks for visiting! (and I apologize for the crooked picture!)

Playing catch-up!

I have done a bunch of stuff lately and realize I haven't posted it here!! This was another Apron Strings Designs challenge from our Sizzling Summer Challenge - use one of the most recent kits you had received and you had to use all three patterned papers and three embellishments - and I also used it for a Guest Design Team call asking me to use "time" in some way on the layout! I do like the way it came out! The letters were made with my new Boss Kut MORGAN alphabet from http://www.cropstop.com/.

Gotta love those challenges!
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Another Two-fer!!!

Hello there! Nice to see everybody visiting, and if you haven't already, be sure to check out the brand new CropStop.com Design Team! They are linked to your left.

I love this layout! It was actually a challenge last weekend on Simply Obsessed, but I didn't get to it in time for their online crop. However, I had been participating in the Scrapbooking American Idol Design Team Contest (my name for it) over at The Mosy Scrapper and had been challenged in Round 3 (the final round) to use what I considered a popular scrapbooking trend. Now, I am not the trendiest person around, so I was a little apprehensive about this round. After searching through my scrapbooking magazines I was ready to go! Scallops, Texture, Bling and the challenge from Simply Obsessed to do an All White layout - that's beautiful layout you see is what I came up with! (And I did get the January Guest Designer Spot over at The Mosy Scrapper!!!!!)

And the details - cardstock, sticker letters and scalloped velvet ribbon came out of an Apron Strings Designs kit. Photo mat is embossed using the Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes embossing folder from http://www.cropstop.com/. Scallops were cut using the new QuicKutz 12" border die. Clear dew drops and white Doodlebug sugar coated brads from cropstop.com.
As always ~ thanks for visiting!

Vanilla Fudge Ripple - Another Double!

This is another layout from my weekend Ice Cream Crop and from the Apron Strings Designs challenge - here's the scoop! (pun intended lol) The challenge was called Vanilla Fudge Ripple - black and white photograph (Vanilla & fudge) and the "ripple" is the scallop. Apron Strings Designs also had a challenge to use five circles in a layout! All the materials here are from the ASD kit, except for the white cardstock which is Textured CTMH. The ribbon is actually printed twill! Absolutely love it!! Will have to see about getting more of that!

As always, thanks for visiting and please come again soon....

One more thing - CropStop.com's Design Team is being announced VERY soon...be sure to check back and congratulate the lucky recipients!

KICK IT ! ! !

Here is another challenge from the online crop I participated in this weekend! Again, ice cream them - Two Scoops! You had to use two pictures and a circle!

I actually made this layout from an old Scrap Jammies kit. Those kits come already pre-cut, two page layout to use EXACTLY as they show you their sample, you just need pictures and journaling. Well I have these left over from my early days, and since I have been scrapping in 9x9, I opted to re-purpose them and just do what I wanted with them! So the end result is not what they had planned, but it also makes me work a little differently to either cut down what they have given me because I don't usually have full sheets of paper to work with!

The only thing I can tell you that didn't really come out of the kit were the letters - the cardstock is from the kit and they were cut out using the Cuttlebug Red Tag alphabet purchased at
www.cropstop.com.

As always, thanks for visiting!

Mint Chocolate Chip

This was a busy weekend! I participated in an online crop this past weekend over at Simply Obsessed (as we all are!) and I did get four layouts done! You will be seeing them over the next couple of days! Everything was based on Ice Cream. This first one I am going to show you was a color challenge - Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream - using Green, White & Black on a layout!

I made this very simple layout of my friend Lisa (and I am sure she won't appreciate my using this particular picture) but as she had on a black and white dress, I figured it worked really well with the challenge!

Cardstock is Bazzill and CTMH, patterned paper is Doodlebug, ribbon was purchased from the Stamper's Dream, flower is by Lil Davis, Lisa Letters were cut from black cardstock using the Totally Tall Boss Kut alphabet which can be purchased at http://www.cropstop.com/ and the buttons were from the stash!

As always, thanks for visiting!

OCC Challenge!

I just created this card for the OCC Challenge. This week's challenge was to create a card with using ANY designer paper! So what is a girl to do??! Emboss!!

This card is sooooo simple it literally only took minutes to create - and I'd love to once again thank Tammy of Stamp Happy - this is another creation based on her white on white card! Ribbon is American Crafts, Heart and Love Mirror are both Creating Keepsakes, Cuttlebug Textured Textiles (I think that's the name of it) and Nestabilites Scalloped squares (both can be purchased at http://www.cropstop.com/). And that was it!! Thanks for the challenge.

As always, thanks for visiting - and don't forget, today is the last day to submit for the CropStop.com Design Team!

White on White - A Scraplift!

Okay - There was a Stamp Simply challenge and although I didn't participate, I did see this card: http://stamphappy-tammy.typepad.com/my_weblog/2008/08/stamp-simply-46---white-on-white.html on Tammy's blog! I just couldn't get this card out of my mind, so I had to recreate it! And I must say, its VERY close to hers. With the exception of squares vs. rectangles, the sentiment and the ribbon placement (which sounds like a lot, but if you look at hers, it's really not) it's an exact duplicate of her card!! All I can say to Tammy is - THANKS FOR THE INSPIRATION!

For the details - Cardstock is CTMH Sweet Leaf and Textured White Daisy. It is embossed by the new Cuttlebug Leafy Branch embossing folder. The stamps are a brand new set from Clear Dollar Stamps called Leaf Impressions - it's a set of 6 stamps for only $3.99!!

Thanks for looking!!

Another Challenge! (anybody surprised??)

Back at Apron Strings Designs (it is becoming my home away from home) we are on Challenge #6 of the Sizzling Summer Challenge!!! Above, you will see my layout and the ad inspiration! I am not big on circles (although Lori at Aprong Strings tells me - Dinner plate!!) So I used the colors for my inspiration and that is what I got! It uses an Apron Strings Designs kit - everything but the flowers and the silver ribbon in the buttons!!

Love love love them!! You should run over and subscribe! (www.apronstringsdesigns.com)

Here's the Skinny...

The Mosy Scrapper is in the middle of it's Design Team Call. I decided to go for it! So they are doing elimination rounds - which is such fun!!! The first challenge was to create a layout about "what you have done thus far this summer". Now, I personally have never done one of these layouts that incorporates a whole time period, so this one was new for me. So I wanted to get as many pictures on there as possible (very different from what I have been doing which is about one picture at a time) ~ so I cut the pictures skinny, instead of into squares ~ hence the title - The Skinny on Summer! (cute, huh?)

Anywho, I am very please with how it came out, even though there isn't a lot of fluff and frill...it is, after all, about the pictures!

So I hope you like it!! As always, thanks for visiting!
