HIP HOP HANGOVER!!

I don't usually participate in HipHop Hangover but decided I would this week!! It is actually the colors of yesterday's Unity Hip Hop challenge, but I didn't post it for the challenge.

Here's the inside:
I don't always decorate the inside, but when I do I like to show it. So besides Hip Hop Hangover, this also hits the following challenges:
  • Obviously it's for Hip Hop Hangover. The Unity Stamp I used is called Slim Vase.
  • The sketch is from PaperPlay.
  • The Dutch Dare blog asked us to decorate the inside of our card!
That's all for this one!! Thanks for stopping by!!

As I continue to pile on my challenges - I need to remind you of the new challenge blog that is coming on Sunday - PILE IT ON! I understand that if you become a follower (nothing else) you will be eligible for blog candy!! So run on over there, become a follower, and on Sunday you'll see a new challenge come up!

I've Got My Eye On You!!!

I am loving this cute little card!! Sometimes I make a card and don't particularly care for it, but this one I do! I am thinking it would be REALLY cute for the little boys!

And of course you know there are details details details!
  • 365 Cards asked for "eye" on a card. They were doing a whole Cutting Cafe week and had fruit - and apple to be specific, so I think most people went with the Apply of my Eye thing. I had this cute little stamp from Unity and in the circle it made me think of the moon!
  • Flourish's Timeless Tuesday challenge was sponging - it gave the planet a lot of depth I think.
  • If The Shoe Fits is really who got this card started. They had an ad inspired challenge that you can see HERE. All I really saw was the black background and outer space elements.
  • Daring Cardmakers asked us to Take 5. Use five of "something" on a card. In my case, it's the five rhinestones on the planet.

I am sure there will be more coming this weekend! I think I have one more for 365 this week...and a few others that I want to get to. Hope to see you back here soon!

It's All Black & White

I had actually started this card for the Black & White challenge over at If The Shoe Fits, but it wasn't working for me so I put it aside and did something else, but this white vase and flowers kept calling to me! So I worked on it and came up with this....

I also found some beautiful soap (and since soap is what I do for a living - I know soap! LOL) in the Etsy Inspired Challenge over at Heart Hugs. This week's shop is SunBasilGarden. Here's my inspirational piece:

And last, but certainly not least, in my challenge search, I found Ann's Creative Nook was also doing a black and white challenge. I did read the challenge correctly, however when I started to working, my brain obviously ignored the fact that she stated another color could be used. I am going to link it up for her to see anyway, but I am not totally in compliance with the challenge. I will obviously have to follow directions better next time! In my defense - her title does say "It's All Black & White" LOL

Thanks for stopping by!

More challenges down....

I think this card ended up pretty cute!! Etsy Inspired this week was a shop called Bealoo! They have really cute prints. I chose this ladybug print. I have to tell you when I originally chose it, the card I ended up with is NOT what I had in mind - but I like it. If you click the Etsy Inspired link, you will go right to the post and can check the shop out!!

So anyway - here's the card! I am loving all those dots!!

So here's the story for the card:
  • Etsy Inspired #35, Bealoo Shop (just in case you weren't paying attention when I said it at the beginning of the post - LOL)
  • 365 Cards - 365 had a recipe challenge (known as Tuesday's Trio) and asked for circles, scallops and bling! Check, check, check! Got all of those!
  • This also happens to be the Card Patterns sketch this week. This will actually be my second card for this sketch. You can see the first one HERE. (and just to toot my own horn - I made the top 5 last week for THIS card. You can see the Card Patterns post HERE!)
  • Sketches {by tamara} - Recipe Challenge #48 - Red, Round and Ric Rac. Now, in order to have made this particular challenge, I will need to show you the inside - which is below!

I don't always design on the inside and I hardly ever show it when I do! Well, I think I packed enough into this card!

Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to leave a comment on THIS post to be entered in for my BLOG CANDY!!

Six challenges - two cards!

The good news is - I was not creating my Mother's Day cards this morning. More good news - at least I know I would have had time to do so, because I did make four cards this morning. One I can't show you, the second is in the post below and there are two here for your viewing pleasure!!

The first one is a challenge for Color Create - blue and green. The second challenge is for The Pink Elephant - they asked for blue, green & White. I have actually been using this combo a lot lately so it was a breeze!! The third challenge this card is for would be the Sweet Sunday Sketch (#17) over at Karen's blog. I found her a few weeks ago when I made THIS card. I am glad I was able to participate again this week.

The second card is also for three challenges (I know you're surprised that I would combine challenges! LOL) It is for the 365 Sunday Sketch and it is for Caardvarks "Don't Quote Me" challenge. The stamp is Unity - from one of their KOTMs. I don't recall which one though. I really LOVE this card - I am just not sure why. The third challenge this is 2 Red Bananas - Glitter Me Silly! The patterned paper and the scalloped piece are both "glittered".

Those papers are nice and sparkly!! They're from a mat stack by DCWV that I picked up yesterday for $4.97 on clearance!! So if you live near a Michael's - they have some good stuff on sale! It is definitely a CAS card. Just a few rhinestones to dress it up!

And that's it for this post! Since it's Mother's Day - I would love to wish all my Mom Readers out there a Happy Mother's Day! Also, don't for get my BLOG CANDY - there's more than one way to win, so check it out!

NSD Leftovers...LOL!

Hey there!! You must scrap on National Scrapbooking Day, as well all know!! Anyway, here is a layout that I have done, and I am not 100% sure I like it - but here goes.

For Apron Strings Designs - we had Menu a La Carte. Earlier in the week, we chose our menu and weren't told what our menu items meant til yesterday. This layout is the result of that menu.

Which is this:

  • Starter - cardstock - one or two
  • Drink - Raspberry Lemonade - Floral Paper
  • Appetizer - Shrimp Cocktail - Handwritten Journaling
  • Dinner - BBQ Chicken - 2 photos
  • Dessert - Cherry Pie - glitter or bling

Next came the sketch. It's from Jenn Buck. I love her CAS Sketches. She does a challenge every Sunday. This week, if you upload today, you also have a shot at a prize from Unity Stamps. I love Unity and their scrapbooking stamps are FANTABULOUS! As you can see from my layout, I did use their journaling stamp to put my handwritten journling into!! Here's a details shot of the box, journaling and my lovely bow!!

All the papers and embellishments came from my Apron Strings Design Smaller than a Breadbox kit from October, 2008. The stamp is Unity. The ribbon was the only thing not in my kit was from my stash!

I think I veered from Jenn's sketch slightly, but I am thinking I did pretty good overall sticking to it.

Thanks for visiting...this might be all for today. Hope you had a good NSD!

Project Tuesday - Stand Up Card

This week Project Tuesday challenged us to a Free Standing Pop Up card. I think it's a really CUTE project!! It took me long thought this week before I decided what I was going to do with mine. I have one other idea, so you might just seen another one. I will apologize now for the not so great picture. If I can get another one within the next day or so - I will replace it.

Yes - the pinwheel at the top does spin! I even added an extra piece of peach cardstock so it looked like it had the stick!!
My niece's birthday is this month, so this card will go to her. Since she's only going to be 5, I doubt she'll appreciate it - except for maybe the spinning pinwheel! (who am I kidding, she wants the gifts!)

Since there seemed to be SOOO many details on this one, I have listed all the information in my Supplies section below my signature. I don't always use that little feature, but I do have it! (Thanks Sara!!)

As always, thanks for stopping by today!

  • Pinwheels - QuicKutz die
  • Ribbon Slide - Spellbinder Die
  • Brads - Making Memories
  • Patterned Paper - Phrase Cafe
  • Background Flower stamp - Unity
  • Phrase Sentiment - Cornish Heritage Farms
  • Happy Birthday Sentiment - Lizzie Anne Designs
  • Rhinestones - CTMH

Blue & Green CPS

Since I already had my green and blue papers out, I opted to make another card with them, therefore - a second entry for the Spoon Full of Sugar Blue Green Challenge. This time using CPS #113. I liked the sketch the moment I saw it, just wasn't 100% sure what I was going to do with it. It is sponsored by Cornish Heritage Farms and I do have BUNCH of Kim Hughes stamps, so I might do this one again!

I am thinking this would be a beautiful baby card for someone having a little boy! And I just might know somebody....anywho - here it is:

The stamp is from Unity. First time I got it inky. I LOVED this stamp the first time I saw it - thought it was the CUTEST!! I didn't use the sentiment that came with it for this card, but I bet you can guess what it is...LOVE EWE! I will probably do more with this stamp. As I have stated before, I am not really a stamper, so I am relatively choosy about which stamps I buy. Usually because I want to know they're something I can work with.

As always, thanks for visiting. I might be done for tonight, but there are still challenges out there, so who know? :)

Three Challenges!!

I am loving this card! When I started it I was trying to hit two challenges - The Pink Elephant (stamps, punches and embossing) and Jen's SFYTT. I realized as I finished that I had also hit the Limelight Challenge - green/tree/recycle. Obviously, I hit the tree part!!

For the Pink Elephant Challenge...the sqaures were cut out with my Creative Memories Square punch, the brown cardstock under the tree is embossed with the Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes embossing folders and obviously the tree is the stamp.

I do love the way it came out. The cardstock is Bazzill, papers are We R Memory Keepers, the stamp is Unity's Dream tree (who doesn't love this stamp), KaiserCraft rhinestones, and the ribbon was in the stash.

Short post, but I have time to create, so I want to get to it. As always, thanks for stopping by! Hope to see you back tomorrow!

Clear Dollar Stamps Color Challenge

As a former DT member for Clear Dollar Stamps, they do hold a special place in my heart! I noticed they were doing a color challenge and I went for it! The "sketch" is actually an oldie from Triple the Sketch. I saw it on one of the DTs blogs today, so I figured I would use it. I believe it is #9 and since I was doing it from memory, I might be off slightly. :)

Anyway - here are the details. The actual color challenge was Old Olive, More Mustard and Chocolate Chip. Now, I am actually a former SU demonstrator, so I do have all the markers, so my coloring of the image is using the actual colors. I don't have any of the papers anymore, so I matched the papers to my coloring and this is what I came up with. Of course when I reread the challenge, I was already past the due date and was supposed to use a stamp from Clear Dollar (which should have been obvious! DUH!) so it really didn't count for anything, except I now have a nice card to send to somebody special!

The stamp is from Unity (I love that stamp!) The cardstock is actually Bazzill. I used my Nestabilites to cut out the image. The ribbon came from the dollar bin at Michael's, the button from my stash and the flower is by Bazzill as well (I think). I made the stick pin.

Hope you like it and thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog today!!

Triple the Sketch Anniversary

I check into Triple the Sketch often. I can't say I have done a lot of their weekly challenges, but I have copied some sketches and they're in my inspiration file. I think I still have the "old" blinkie on my blog! Anyway -- it's their First Anniversary!

I created this piece in honor of their anniversary. You can see the sketch here. They are giving away some AWESOME blog candy to a random entry!

If you visit my blog often, you know I have a couple of children. My oldest who is 17 is currently sick with abdominal pain that we do not know the cause of. She has to go for a colonoscopy and an endoscopy on Wenesday to see if we can find out exactly what is causing her all this pain. As I made this card (because it is a 5.5" x 5.5" card in a frame) I thought of this saying, which is a stamp from Unity. LIVE ALL THE DAYS OF YOUR LIFE. Now I am thinking that her pain is something normal and easily treatable but you know there's always a possiblity that it could be something more. I am sure she is going to live a normal healthy life and she should do what this card says anyway and LIVE All the Days of her life. I love you Manda!

And the other details in case you'd like to know them: Paper is from an Apron Strings Designs kit, the ribbon was purchase at All That Scraps, Stamp is Unity, and I made the little crocheted flower.

Thanks for stopping by! I am sure there'll be more soon...I just can't stop creating these days and it's GREAT!

Unity Hip Hop Challenge

Today's challenge over at the Unity Hip Hip was three layers and three colors - no more, you could do less. Which makes me ask - how do you truly count a layer?!?!

At most this card would be three layers - leaf, flower, flower center. This card was created with one of the new 3-D QuicKutz dies - which I am TRULY LOVING!! The stamp, of course, is Unity. It's from the March Kit of the Month which I personally just got in yesterday! I have seen SOOOO many great creations with it throughout the month that I just had to have it!

I thought the simple sentiment was perfect for my simple card!

The papers are from an Apron Strings Designs kit - the same kit actually that I used in the post below (if you can believe it). The ink is CTMH Garden Green and the base is actually a premade base from DCWV.

I made this card this morning in literally 10 minutes!! Hope you like it and as always - thanks for taking the time to vising my blog!

CAS Challenge!

I love a challenge! Especially those that challenge you to be simple! Simple is not always easy...

Jenn Buck is one of my favorites for simple - her term EPLS (easy peazy lemon squeezy). You'll have to ask her where it came from! LOL I love her blog and am inspired EVERY TIME I go there -- which is often!!! Anyway - she started a new challenge and as soon as I saw it I KNEW I had to participate. So here it is....click on her name and it'll take you to her blog so you can see the challenge yourself if you'd like!

The black and orange cardstock came out of an Apron Strings Designs kit. The stamp is Unity. The ribbon from the stash; flower and lettering (QK Chickadee alphabet) are both from CropStop.com.

As always thanks for visiting - and be sure to stop by on Saturday. I am participating in the HUGE HUGE HUGE Unity Blog hop!! And THAT - you don't want to miss!

Monsters Monsters Monsters

Well, I have absolutely had NO time to create in such a long time! Today I got called out of work because my son was sick - I got him settled on the couch and then got busy on this little Kaiser Craft tag album!! All the papers are from my February Apron Strings Designs kits (they might have some left if you check!) The papers are by October Afternoon and are called Night Light - all little monsters!! I did buy the additional sheet of cardstock die cuts to go with it!

I didn't add much to the kit - I used Unity Stamps "Cuter than Most" set - which is also monsters, I added Kaiser Craft black pearls and I think that was about it! I love the way the album came out!! I might get a big ring for it instead of leaving it on the ribbon, but that's about all I would probably do to "finish" it! It's probably fine as it, but you know how it is when you get an idea in your head!! LOL

Also, CropStop is sponsoring a challenge over at Letters to Scrap By and the challenge is to use Lime Green - they're on the letter L. This little album has quite a bit of Lime Green in it - so I figure I am good to go!

So all in all, it was a pretty creative day!! And there were lots of pictures for you! Hope you like it and as always, thanks for stopping by! Hopefully it won't be another 2-3 weeks before I blog again!! (it probably won't be that long - my daughter now wants me to do one of these for HER!)
