Baby card :)

Okay - I don't own much to do baby cards. I guess I figured since my oldest is 16 and my youngest is 6, that I don't need baby related items in my papercrafting stuff...how wrong can I be when I have a baby shower to go to, I go to make the card and NOTHING! I have NOTHING in which to make it with. :( So what does one do - WING IT!

The card, luckily enough for me, was in a set I just purchased from DCWV - they're all embossed and they happen to come with baby ones...I got them at my local Michael's with a 50% off coupon so the whole box, which I think has 50 embossed cards cost me $5.00 - couldn't leave those in the store!

The flowers are Prima, the letters are QK (I forget which alphabet and I have many) papers are Bazzil bling and the scalloped border was a Marvy punch (it's actually three squares). The ribbons were in my stash and you just have to love those teeny tiny safety pins - which I only had because they were CUTE CUTE CUTE!

So, baby shower is in 1.5 hours and the card is done! (okay - I procrastinated on this one).

Freedom....

Okay, it may be shameless...maybe not - patriotism is never shameless. Anywho, Kim Hughes has a blog candy give away over on her blog (http://paperhugs.typepad.com/paper_hugs/) if you give her a link to a card using 2 of the three colors - red, white and blue. New or old.

I have been creating these little card sets, so I did this one in red, white and blue specifically for her blog candy give away. It's a set of 6, 3 of each. Now the shameless part - I used the CHF Stamp of the Month, Freedom Eagle, which Kim designed. I must say that I LOVE all her stamp sets and I would love to own this one. I love everything Americana, patriotic, red white and blue! Which means if I don't win it, I'll have to buy it.

Lookie here!!

My daughter got her yearbook today - and look at the picture that you open up to for the freshman class!!!
She's the one standing. The one about to fall on her butt is her friend Brianna - who is practically mine too!!
Just had to share! :)

More stationery!

The problem with days off (of course I don't really think of it as a problem) is that I spend all my time creating and blogging! I have done another set of stationery inspired my Mish Mash (see post below) and this one fulfills Stamp Something's faux challenge. I know somebody already did faux ribbon, however, I had just read about it on Nicole's Heady's blog and just had to try it!

Brown cardstock is Bazzill, Ocean is CTMH. Paper again came from Apron Strings Designs monthly kit and the sentiment, stamped in CTMH chocolate ink, is from Papertrey Ink.
Thanks for visiting..again!

Stationery!

I saw a post on Michelle Wooderson's blog (http://michellewooderson.blogspot.com/2008/05/apple-inchie-stationery.html) and just had to try it!! My version uses CTMH papers (the stripe is from the new Boom-Di-Ada Creative Basics paper packet), colors are Garden Green, Olive, Buttercup and Hollyhock. The stamps are Verve Visual's new releases - both Petals & Stems and Fluttering By. The flower was the PERFECT size to fit in that circle! The sentiment, in case you can't read it, says "Just because". The scalloped circle was done with a Nestability and is on a pop-dot. I think they came out pretty good, if I do say so myself!

SBS18 - Challenge #2

Okay - I put myself in overdrive and created these two ATCs. I do generally papercraft in a relatively streamlined manner, with a very simple style. Being only 2.5" x 3.5", there's not a lot of space for too many embellishments anyway. I do love the way they both came out, so I have no complaints.
Pink cardstock is Bazzill, white cardstock is CTMH. Monkey stamp and sentiment are CC Designs from All that Scraps. All stamps on "Friend" card are CTMH. Ribbons are from the LSS.
The one thing I really need to do is find take better pictures. So if any of you have some tips, I would be grateful for them.
Thanks for looking!

Birthday Card

This is the birthday card I made for my friend Gloria. Her birthday was almost two weeks ago, but I haven't seen her yet (she's coming for dinner tonight). It was inspired by a card by Kim Hughes which can be found on her blog www.paperhugs.typepad.com on her May 21st post.

The card itself is a DCWV, the pink is Bazzill the white is CTMH. Doodlebug token, silver cord and the sentiment and flowers on the envelope are both by PTI. Their stamps leave such a clean impression you would swear I printed right on the card.
This could very well be my last post for today, but I make no promises! :)

My Time Sketch

This is for Lauren's sketch - and she thought nobody would be reading today! :)

The cardstock is Bazzill. Brads are by Making Memories. Flower stamp on tag and ribbon are CTMH. Stamp is by MAMBI. Enjoy the Moment stamp is Papertrey Ink. I am not 100% sure about the patterned paper but it might be Doodlebug.

Thanks for looking!!

Blue & Green and Cupcake Challenge!

Okay - I got another two-fer going! (gotta love that). Louise has a blue/green color challege going and Taylor gave us the sketch for her weekly cupcake challenge.

Papers are DCWV and Bazzill Bling. Stamp is Glam Girls (http://www.allthatscraps.com/) from C.C. Designs (love love love these stamps), rhinestone flowers are from CTMH. The sentiment was bought at the LSS and I believe is by A Muse which says "from one chick to another".

Hopefully there'll be more later today.

Friday Sketchers #3

I loved this sketch ~ once I was finished with it...for whatever reason - that circle was intimidating me! You will however notice I flipped the sketch and with the hanging tag, I think it hit perfectly! (if I do say so myself :) But if you scroll down on my blog, I did a separate layout with the other pictures. I kept the colors and papers similar (they are all by Sassafrass Lass) so now I will have a two page layout (don't you love it when things work out like that!)

The cardstock is Bazzill Bling and the charm tag, which I hope you can see, is a new CTMH product. They have some others that are smaller and when I received these I was surprised (pleasantly) that they were as big as they were. The small red flowers with the rhinestone centers are Jolee's. And I hope you can see those little rhinestone centers!

Thanks for visiting once again!

Take 2 - SSS#4

Okay - if you look 2 posts down, you will see the original card. I don't know what I was thinking, but I kept looking at it and knew it needed something - after all, there was really nothing on it. Must not have had my mojo going. Anyway, here's the revamped card. All I added was the ribbon and the two brads. Makes a big difference in my opinion! The brads are doodlebug sugarcoated in limeade and you can get them at http://www.cropstop.com/. She's the fastest shipping store I have EVER dealt with and she's got Cuttlebug Embossing folders, Scor-Pal and more! Check her out - and if you get to talk to her on the phone - she's got the cutest English accent around!!

Here's the revamp...

Thanks for checking it out...again!

SSS #4

Here's my first try at Amy Westerman's Super Sketch Sunday sketch...now that's a mouthful!! The picture isn't too great - I'm not really sure why tonight.

Papers are Sassafrass Lass, red cardstock was embossed with the Cuttlebug Bloom Dots embossing folder. Inks are CTMH. Stamps are my brand-spanking-new-just-took-out-of-the- package-today Verve Visual! LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM!!! I feel this card is missing an embellishment of some sort but I couldn't figure out what to use. If you have any ideas - let me know! :)

Sketches & Papertake

I am definitely addicted to these challenges! And I am getting so many scrapbook pages done, I don't think I will stop anytime soon!!

Here is my page for the Sketches {by tamara} Layout #45. I love the way it came out. It is my daughter and her friends in summer of 2007. They were just sitting in the grass and I got these great pictures!! I have one picture of the three of them together which I hope to be able to do for another challenge I saw recently.
Papers are Sassafrass Lass, brads and ink are CTMH, stamp & flower are both Heidi Swapp.

Next - is a card I made based on the Sketches! {by tamara} Guest Designer - Stephanie Hargis. It was the first time I was able to use my Cornish Heritage Farm stamps - U R a Hoot is the name of the set and it is designed by Kim Hughes. I LOVE her stamps! I just discovered them and I will definitely be back for more. The sentiments is stamped onto twill (don't know what company it is - it was the last piece I had in my scrap bucket) held on with two orange bigger brads from CTMH.

I must tell you I totally adore this last layout. It was taken at Roger Williams Zoo here in Providence, Rhode Island. Don't ask me how I got this picture - I don't know and since it is an action shot, I couldn't have planned it! I am just very GRATEFUL to have gotten it.

The papers I used came in a kit from Apron Strings Designs. I love their monthly kits. If you have been reading my blog at all, I have been using them quite frequently lately.

I have to tell you that when I saw this sketch, I wasn't keen on it and wasn't even sure I was going to do it. As I started putting it together - I was VERY glad I did. I love the way it came out. Because I did it as a page instead of a card, my "sentiment" was pushed off to the side. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. thanks so much for the inspiration!!

Last one?

This could be my last post for today...who knows!

This layout is technically for the Itty Bitty Scrapshack. I found it on the Sketches! {by tamara} blog, which I frequent often. So I will post here and link to Sketches - I will check to see if/how I can post to Itty Bitty.

The papers on this are again a kit from Apron Strings Designs, my monthly club kit. (They should start paying me commission after all this! :)

The colors are actually a sage green and colonial blue. Doesn't really look like it as I am looking at this picture, but since all the colors are off, I guess it doesn't matter all that much. I used the Moxie QuicKutz alphabet - skinni mini and classic. The brads are CTMH. The little flowers came from a RAK a long time ago, so I really have no idea about them. Everything else was the kit.

The names that decorate the top and the bottom are the kids in the picture. The first two - Devin & Amanda, are mine - the rest are not although they do all call me Mom. And I love them all :)

Thanks for visiting!

TCP Glam Girl

Yes - this is my fourth post today.

Yes - I am mixing my stamp companies.

Yes - I AM HAVING FUN!! (that's the important one)

Anyway - this is the TCP Challenge for this week. I finished it and then I was thinking that the background papers should have met the corners of my matting, but I still like the way it came out!

The stamps are the Glam Girls by CC Designs (http://www.allthatscraps.com/), the papers were all in my stash (I am trying my darndest to stop hoarding and use the stuff), large brads are CTMH.

I hope you can see that the glasses and ring are "blinged" by the stardust pen (it came with my glam girls).

CHF Layout Challenge!

Back again - gotta love the alone time!! Here's my take on the layout sketch. There are no stamps - sorry! I just got my first set of CFH stamp and I will be inking them VERY soon. All the papers and embellishments on this particular layout came from Apron Strings Designs - it's a monthly scrapbook kit club - and I absolutely love it! Only thing not from ASD is the ink I used on the journaling card, which is in the library pocket!! Love this sketch - mine is done in a 9x9 size (it's my sketch favorite). Hope you like it!!

Thanks for stopping by - again! :)

My first SFYTT

Hi there! I need to let you all know - I am ALONE in my house! This just never happens!! :) YIPPEE!!! Undisturbed papercrafting time!!!!!

That being said - here's my version of Jen's SFYTT. It's my first time trying and I have been "using" all you challengers to get inspired, motivated and pages into the scrapbooks - and a few cards too!

So here it is - papers are BoBunny, brads, photo hinges, clip and the charms are all CTMH. The charms say: cherish, sweet, love (I am sure you cannot read them in my photo). Hope you like it!!

I will be going back to my workshop and making more - I hope nobody gets tired of all my posts today.

Glam Girl Thanks!

I am so in love with this card!! Maybe it's not really as great as I think it is, but I really love it! For Stamp Something's second challenge (http://www.stampsomething.com/) they asked us to say Thanks! So I just learned this new card fold - I believe from the Joy in a Jar blog, and I had just receive my Glam Girl Stamps from C.C. Designs (http://www.allthescraps.com/) so I ended up with this creation! Here it is...

Transformers and cupcakes!

It's an odd combination, I know!! My little boy Devin, loves the transformers - so obviously he's "my own little transformer" and the sketch came from Beatrix and is this week's challenge on Friday Sketchers! What I noticed about this sketch was it wasn't done in the normal black/white/grey/with a pop of color way that most people use to show their sketches - the sketch was almost as pretty as a scrapbook page itself! And very frilly! I think I did a good job sticking to the sketch, even got some scallops in, but had to keep clean lines for my little boy! Enough talk about it - here it is, I hope you like it!

Next, I have this cute little cupcake card. I have finally been able to complete a challenge for Taylor over at Taylored Expressions. For those of you who don't know, Friday is Cupcake Day over at Taylored Expressions.
I am not sure how large her card is, but mine is a little bitty 3x3. Purple base paper and green scalloped square are both CTMH textured cardstock, striped paper is from the CTMH Paper Garden Paper pack. I picked up the cupcake stamp at my local A.C.Moore. I am not sure who it's by but if you want to know, I will check and drop you a line (or even repost back here once I look). So without making you wait any longer...here it is!

And I think I am getting better with the pictures! If anybody has any tips, PLEASE I BEG YOU - spare everybody else from lousy pictures (and yourself too) and pass them on to me!! I would LOVE to get better photos on here and I can use all the help I can get!
Thanks for stopping by!

Another for Sketches! {by tamara}

Per my usual, the picture isn't great, but the card was adorable! I am going to try like heck to take and post in the mornings instead of the evenings from now on. I bet you I get much better photos!

I just made this card for my niece's birthday. I needed a card and figured this sketch was just perfect!! Hope you like it!
(yes, those are little cupcakes on the ribbons)

Ladybug, Ladybug, fly away....

Since the kids are sleeping and my husband is out with a friend, I figured why not make one more!! :) This will be for the Sketches {by Tamara} card sketch...I think this is the last evening to get it in for this week, so here it is:

I am not overly pleased with the pictures, but LOVE the card. The ladybug paper (and I'm not sure you can tell that's what it is) is from Over the Moon press -I've had it for a while, so I don't know if it's available anymore. The big flower and button center are both Making Memories products. Ladybugs and letters (Diesel alphabet) are QuicKutz - also purchased at Cropstop.com.
Hope you like it!!

More challenges completed! YAY!!

While I am blurfing (blog surfing) all over the internet, I of course find all these sketches and challenges and I tell you, it doesn't get any better than this!!! What a world! Whoever thought 20 years ago that I could read about people's lives and share our love for our hobbies.

Any-who - back to the challeges. I actually incorporated two here - Papertake Weekly challenge - which was to use green and purple and Friday Sketchers! This is also my first use of stamps by CC Designs - and I have to tell you, I absolutely love the stamps and the quality! I will definitely be back for more (maybe even tonight, but don't tell my husband!)

So here it is...

Again, please excuse the pictures - I am still learning and I always seem to need to take my photographs at night, so I obviously don't get natural light. On to the deets...the base is CTMH textured cardstock - this is actually the lighter side, not the true CTMH color. The purple is just a piece that was in my purple stash, embossed with the Cuttlebug relatively new paisley embossing folders, which I always buy at Cropstop.com - always free shipping in the US and QUICK QUICK QUICK!!! The green under the butterfly is by DoubleTakes - like the CTMH textured, this is a darker side and a lighter side. The butterfly stamp is by CC Designs, which you can purchase at AllThatScraps.com. Lastly, the Just be You stamp is by CTMH in a set called Treasures of the Heart...and it would have been prefect to use on last night's card with the cupcake...always a day late and a dollar short!!

Anyway, here's hoping you like it!

Thanks for stopping by.

New stuff to show!!

Hi there! I was busy creating tonight. I am new to these challenges, but I am trying them out. They make me motivated and the scrapbooking ones especially help in getting pages done! Gotta love that. Here are two items I did tonight. The first one is for Jen del Muro's SFYTT...it uses a huge stamp of a row of cupcakes I purchase at the local AC Moore. I think I cut a cupcake and a half off!! The cardstock is CTMH's new textured cardstock - it is actually two sided...has lighter shades on the back. The little rhinestone flowers are also CTMH - they were a Rewards Club award and the little pink flower in the background is from CTMH's Adorable stamp set. I was trying to find a stamp that said something like "be original", but I didn't have one in my collection - obviously I need to find one!

This next one is for this week's Sketch's {by tamara} Sketch. My daughter just got her belly button pierced (after begging and pleading for a year) and like any scrapbooking mother would do, I brought the camera. It really is cute.
That's about all for tonight! Sleep now, work in the morning!! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Mother's Day!

First, I would like to wish any mom's out there who might be reading this a Happy Mother's Day! :) Mine has been lovely. I was able to get some peace and quiet when my husband took my six year old to the store not once, but twice today!!! This is what I was able to come up with. I need to give credit for the idea to Christina Fischer at http://www.flowersandink.blogspot.com/. She not only did one for spring, but for winter as well! Thanks so much for the inspiration!!

Here's my version: I made is using Cat's Pajama's Mod Mod World Clearly Swanky stamps. Cardstock and ink are CTMH, except for the yellow cardstock and I have no clue whose it is, it was something in my "yellow" pile! :)

Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!

First...

This is the Mother's Day card I have made to give to my mother-in-law. The papers are by We R Memory Keepers from their "Hippo" collection. It is actually double sided cardstock which is so great for these criss cross cards! Because it's double sided, I can actually use the triangles I cut off the main part of the card by trimming about 1/4" off the bottom. I am not 100% sure how long I have had this paper, so if you are really liking it, you may not be able to get it . The flourish stamps are by Autumn Leaves. Brads are CTMH, the Happy Mother's Day sentiment is a CTMH stamp from their Beauty Seen set - the March stamp of the month and the flowers - I have no clue. I think they were sent to me as a RAK and I saw them tonight and they were perfect. This is the FIRST card I am making for my mother-in-law. Hope she likes it! :)

Pink & Orange - Reminds me of Dunkin Donuts!

Welcome to my blog! It is my newest endeavor. Hopefully very soon you will see a nice custom template here! I am searching and working diligently.

First, I am going to post some artwork for you guys. I just submitted these particular layouts to a design team, and I will let you know the outcome of that! What I don't know is how to "publicize" my blog so that people visit. I will have to work on that as well!

These layouts are from Amanda's semi-formal last June. I love the way this particular layout came out. Hopefully you will too. You will see my style is relatively simple. So if you have suggestions, comments, questions - please comment on this post! Thanks for visiting!

Hold your applause please....

As this is going to be a papercrafting blog, I felt it only fair to get some stuff up here. I hope I get better with the pictures in time, but for now, you'll just have to give me your opinion as is! :)

I know the papers I used were Stampin' Up - Treehouse I believe. Evil was stamped with CTMH Rustic Alphabet - the tags, in case you can't read them say: hear no, see no, and speak no...

Obviously, Devin had no problem hamming it up for the camera! Hope you like this simple little layout - it happens to be one of my favorites!

In all fairness....

This is Devin. He's 5 here - this was taken last summer at Lake Compounce, CT. The motorcycles seemed to be one of his favorites!

Testing

This is my daughter Amanda. I figured I'd use her to test to see how easy or difficult (it was easy) to get a picture on here. This was after her homecoming dance this past October.

Obviously not very good at this...

Okay, so I have to work on sitting down and blogging otherwise this isn't going to be a very interesting blog!

I am looking into getting my own blog design and learning how to use it. Hopefully I will be able to post pictures of finished projects for upcoming workshops.

Hopefully, I will get my first picture up soon too!
