Stars & Butterflies

I have a couple of cards to share with you tonight that hit a bunch of challenges, so hold onto your seats!! And a lot of WHITE tonight!

• Stamptacular Sunday asked for Red, White, & Blue and a Star too!
• Our Creative Corner asked for a star
• Belli Challenge asked for Patriotic (and to top it off - I won a digi stamp there last week!)
  
• Crafty Creations asked for Stars and Stripes - technically stars or stripes! I am thinking this could qualify for both.
• ABC asked for two tones - defined as any two colors, not counting card base (or flesh tones if coloring people) Both of these actually qualify for this one!

This one is actually a dark pink and those green butterflies are made with Nana's Kitchen papers. They actually have forks, knives, and spoons all over them!

• TCP Tuesday has two drinks as an inspiration piece - one green, one pink and very spring/summery
  
• Heart Hugs Etsy Inspired brought us to a store this week called Potato Patch and I was inspired by these cute little childrens shirts. I loved this one - with the butterfly!
  
• Danni's Flutterby Challenge was for springy and of course the butterfly
• Rosie & Dee asked for Pink & Lime
• Paper Blooms asked us to be inspired by something - TCP Picture and the Butterfly shirt at Potato Patch
• Secret Crafter asked for Pink & Green
• All Sorts asked for "winged" things. So again, I give them some lovely butterflies - different butterflies, but lovely just the same!

Feeling a little KRAFTY today!

I was feeling pretty KRAFTY this morning (bad pun I know, but I couldn't help myself!!) Anyway, this might be WWWAAAAYYYY too much information, but I make more cards in my head while in the shower - which is where these two came from!! Anyway, enough of the personal information you didn't want to know - here's the cards!!




This card uses the same layout my friend Dalis used and said was a challenge somewhere, so if you recognize it - let us know! LOL Otherwise - this one covers the following:

• 365 Cards - They're trying to kill me I swear!! They asked for aqua, green, yellow, orange and brown. The catch - make it feminine! So here it is.
• All Sorts - they requested to use something with WINGS. I might have more for them this week.
• Daring Cardmakers - Miss you
• Charisma Cards asked for sparkle
• Flutterby Wednesday is always looking for those butterflies!!

Then I made this one - still krafty!!



Being Father's Day is tomorrow, you know there were plenty of challenges out there for masculine, etc, and this also incorporates a few others.

• Pile It On! asked for two different ribbons (at least!) Isn't that wide brown ribbon gorgeous!! I got it from a good friend (Hi Jenn!!) and love it!! I will have to convince her to tell me where she got it!

More 3-D...

In case you hadn't noticed - I really enjoy creating 3-D items. So on top of Project Tuesday - which I do every week (even before I was part of the Design Team) I do make my share of 3-D items. Here's what I have for you today!

This is an "altered" CD case. I made it into a gift card holder - as you will see from the inside. I love the bright colors and made it so it would fit just about any occasion.



I am sure that I don't have to tell you by now that there are challenges involved:

• Sketch - This sketch was actually used in two places this week - 2RedBananas and CPS. I am thinking I am slightly off, but....it was a space thing!
• Caardvarks asked for 3-D. I am thinking this qualifies as 3-D.
• Our Creative Corner asked for border punches.
• PaperPlay asked for a twist. I am thinking making a gift card holder out of a CD case is kind of a twist, right?

I am loving owls lately and have been discovering some QuicKutz dies that I have had in my stash but haven't had the opportunity to use yet!


Here are the challenges:

• Believe it or not - this is the Card Patterns sketch this week! I got the idea from the top section with the scalloped border but I will leave you to check it out.
  
• Secret Crafter asked for "In the Jungle"
• Once again - for Our Creative Corner - border punches...don't see it? The tree and branch are a QuicKutz border punch.

I added the rhinestones to look like stars and the owls eyes are the smallest KaiserCraft black pearls. The sentiment - Hang In There (pretty appropriate for the little owl on the branch) is from AmyR's Boutique Sentiments.

Going Digital!!

Okay - back on THIS post, I attempted the Dare U 2 Digistamp post and failed miserably because...guess what?!?! I didn't Digistamp! {nobody has to say anything here!} I am already aware that it was a VERY STUPID mistake! LOL Obviously I need to look at WHO the challenge has been issued by before I start on it!

Anyway, here's a card for the challenge - that actually follows the rules!


So here are the details:

• Dare U 2 Digistamp - color challenge - chocolate and orange (and use a digital stamp!)
• Stampin' for the Weekend (a new one for me) also requested a digital stamp - this cute little guy is from Pink Petticoat.
• Our Creative Corner - border punches
• Paper Play - asked for a twist - again, this is a "boy" card and I added my lovely bow at the top. I think it works!

It's a 365 kind of day...

I had to catch up on my 365 Cards challenges this week, so here they are - all in one post!!

• DAY 104 at 365 Cards - Imagine This - Grass! You were supposed to let grass inspire your card. This is what I ended up with. The balls are stickers from Sticko, the grass is a Doodlebug Frill and the stamps are CTMH.
• This is also for Heart Hugs Etsy Inspired - I was very inspired by that store - you'll see another card below!! It's called Naturally Felt and you can see the inspiration for this card HERE.
  

I love how this card came out! So simple yet festive! It's only 3x3.

• Heart Hugs Etsy Inspired store this week is called Naturally Felt. You can see my inspiration for this card HERE.
  
• DAY 105 at 365 Cards - Sing-A-Long Saturday - Rainbow Connection. Obviously you can see the rainbow in the card. These are also Doodlebug Frills. The stamp is by Stamping Bella.
• CCEE asked for Flowers
• Paper Blooms asked for flowers - so there are bunches & bunches of flowers here!!

This last card has a couple - and one I thought I caught, but....

• Our Creative Corner asked for border punches
• 365 Cards gave us a card recipe - 4.25 x 5.5 in size, two patterned papers, stamped sentiment and three jewels
• Dare You to Digistamp asked for chocolate and orange - now that part I got. I am assuming I was also required to use a digital stamp, which I did not. Obviously the color combo was in my head - I should have looked at who issued the challenge! LOL
• Again, CCEE asked for flowers.
• All Sorts asked for Triangles...that border punch gives me a BUNCH of triangles!
• Creative Card Crew asked for geometric patterns - which my gingham obviously fits into.

PILE IT ON!!

Welcome to the first challenge for PILE IT ON! In doing challenges, I found I love to combine them into one card/project - making the most of my time. I wanted to do ALL the challenges - so starting combining them - almost like an additional hobby to my hobby!

So I contacted my friend Dalis and asked her what she thought about partnering with me to create a new challenge blog. The theory behind the blog - PILE IT ON of course!! You must combine ONE OTHER CURRENT challenge with the PILE IT ON challenge. (Total details are of course on the PILE IT ON BLOG).

The first challenge for PILE IT ON is to use a NON-STAMPED SENTIMENT.

So in my usual fashion, here it is:



Here are the challenges it covers:

• PILE IT ON (of course!) - Non Stamped Sentiment - this was made using the QuicKutz Chemistry alphabet.
• Our Creative Corner - Sketch
• If The Shoe Fits - Color combination of pink & green
• Heart Hugs - Etsy Inspiration - Chicy Creations - My inspirational pieces is HERE.
• Secret Crafter - Bling - besides the glitter paper for the flower and non-stamped sentiment, I used rhinestones in the corners around the flower.
• Cute Card Thursday - Punches - The flowers is a QuicKutz Revolution die and again the non-stamped sentiment is the QuicKutz Chemistry alphabet. I so wish you could see the glitter on that flower - it's BEAUTIFUL!!

GUEST DESIGNER - OUR CREATIVE CORNER

I am just THRILLED to be today's Guest Designer for Our Creative Corner. They have a beautiful sketch today, so you should definitely check it out!! Our Creative Corner is one of the challenges I do regularly - and I got to do it early this week! Jennifer Meyer is such a delight to work with!

I know you're not here to hear me ramble, so here's the card:



The flowers and leaves are made from a QuicKutz die - and the flower being two separate pieces made is really easy for me to coat the outer flower in Diamond Dust. (at least I think that's what it's called). I made a card earlier this week that is a great match to this one. You can see that card on THIS POST. Since this card is obviously a match to the first, it also hits the same challenges as that one, so you might see it linked on any of those other blogs too! It also hits the Stamp Simply challenge this week - Spring Has Sprung.

No Surprise Here....

I made a card tonight - not really a surprise.
It incorporates several challenges - again, not really a surprise!




So anyway - after that lack of surprise - here are the details:

• The sketch is this week's Stamps & Smiles sketch from the Fresh Batch - sort of! I went a LITTLE big on the little side element - in my case - the balloon! So I will just say that the sketch inspired this card - that's what it's all about right??
• 365 Cards asked for two colors - in this case turquoise and orange
• If the Shoe Fits Color challenge today was black, orange and turquoise - actually, I think it said teal, but it was really turquoise on the screen, so....
• Our Creative Corner asked for the sentiment as a focal image - not totally sure the balloon doesn't "over-impose" on the sentiment, but...you be the judge!
• Cute Card Thursday (new challenge for me) asked for bling! Now, I definitely got this one - the Kaiser Craft rhinestones in the corner and you probably can't tell but I glittered the balloon with my stardust pen.

And that's my story and I am sticking to it! :)

Clean, Green, & Sentimental

I am always a happy camper when I can get more than one challenge into a card. This one, believe it or not, has three, and two of these challenge blogs are new for me. I am not 100% sure I am in love with it, but....here it is anyway.


Here are the three challenges it works for:

• Our Creative Corner asked for the sentiment to be the focal point. The sentiment is Verve Stamps.
  
• Over at the Clean & Simple Blog, this is the Fall-To Layout #43
• At KJ's Stamp Pad, this week's Color Chef combination is light green, dark green and white.

I am definitely going to be trying this layout again, as well as searching through their archives to see what I have missed!

Very short post today...I mean it this time. LOL

Here's what this card covers:

• 365 Challenge - today was to use notebook paper. Well, I couldn't find any, but I did remember this little stamp set from Clear Dollar Stamps! I used the notebook paper to stamp the background and obviously as the focal point. It's light, but down the notebook paper is says JUST A NOTE!
• Our Creative Corner had a color challenge today - Certainly Celery, Regal Rose and Bashful Blue along with a neutral. Being a CTMH girl and not an SU girl - I used what I thought was probably closest, which was Kiwi, Heavenly Blue and Hollyhock. This is how it turned out.

Some colors and a sketch...

I have been procrastinating on the Color Throwdown Challenge this week. The colors were Riding Hood Red, Baha Breeze and Certainly Celery (give or take - I think!) Again, as I am not an SU girl, I just estimated my color choices based on what I have. I really had to think this one through - why? who knows! LOL It just wasn't coming together in my head.

Also, this card is for the Creative Inspirations Challenge this week, who less specifically asked for green, red and blue!

Well, when I saw the sketch for this weeks Our Creative Corner challenge, I got and idea for that sketch right away and said "Hey - I can do that with the CTD color scheme!" I know - not a brilliant thought, but I figure I would share it anyway. Of course after going over to OCC to get the link, I realize my little dew drops should be at the top of the blue, but...I probably would have moved them anyway.

The stamps are AmyR from All That Scraps -and I would LOVE to thank her for including the Happy Father's Day sentiment in the Boutique Sentiment set! It's one of those that we obviously don't use very often, but it's nice to look down and see it there! I cuttlebugged the blue with my distressed stripes embossing folder and the ovals were cut out with my Nestibilites. My three dew drops in the corner and called it done. Obviously we don't want it too frilly for Dad.

And don't forget about my BLOG CANDY post here!! There is more than one way to win and who knows - You could be the winner!

Sometimes I amaze myself....

Okay - I am a challenge junkie and I admit it....is that really so bad? It is when I make one project for SIX challenges! I think this one is a record for me. So, without further adieu, here it is:
Now, you may ask how it all started. Well here's the run down:

• It started with Triple the Sketch and Project Tuesday. I had previously done this bag for Project Tuesday a couple of posts back. It was such an easy and cute project. When I saw this week's sketch for Triple the Sketch, I was thinking it was PERFECT for a bag!
• The next factor was Our Creative Corner - use your favorite color combo. My favorite color combo is black & white with a POP of color. Doesn't matter what color the pop is...
• This was then followed by Stamp Something - Showers or Flowers. I might go back and do the showers too. I have an idea for that one as well.
• Scrappy Frogs was also asking for spring flowers. LOVING these flowers!
• And last, but certainly not least, the Pink Elephant asked for Mother's Day or Mom Birthday. Now my mother's favorite color was always red, so when I was picking my POP, I went with her favorite color

That's it - count them up! It's 6!! (Yes Dalis - that's more than a triple dip!)

Recyle x2!

This recycle card is for two challenges - happened to both be the same challenge! With Earth Day coming up, we have been asked to recycle something and use it on your card. In this case - it was a box...I think it was the box my newest Unity Stamps came in, but I could be mistaken!

So...this week - Our Creative Corner and the Simon Says Challenge blog both say....Recycle!! So hop on over pay them both a visit!

The details are simple enough....the base is by DCWV, Happy Birthday is a QuicKutz die from CropStop.com, a piece of twill ribbon from the stash and that beautiful flower! Easter Favors

Two different challenge blogs asked for Easter themed items this week. Our Creative Corner and the Pink Elephant Challenge blog - which is a new find for me. Besides that, the 2RedBananas blog asked for "anything but a card"! I love it when I can combine my challenges!!



So you might remember the birthday favor I made 2-3 posts ago. This is bascially the same favor, but I didn't cut the edges into streamers. I did, however, add these really cute tags!

The bunnies are from Paperbilities. I really love that company - they have the cutest embellishment and have many with a lot of texture to them. The Easter Wishes sentiment is from PaperTrey Ink. It's from the original Mixed Messages set. The tulip stamp is from CTMH. It's from their March Word Puzzle set. I love the Word Puzzles sets! If you don't have them or haven't seen them - I would definitely look into them! They have great phrase and image stamps that are seasonal for that month! The Happy Easter on the third tag is actually from the same set! All the papers are from a DCWV 6x6 paper pad.

OCC Challenge!

I just created this card for the OCC Challenge. This week's challenge was to create a card with using ANY designer paper! So what is a girl to do??! Emboss!!

This card is sooooo simple it literally only took minutes to create - and I'd love to once again thank Tammy of Stamp Happy - this is another creation based on her white on white card! Ribbon is American Crafts, Heart and Love Mirror are both Creating Keepsakes, Cuttlebug Textured Textiles (I think that's the name of it) and Nestabilites Scalloped squares (both can be purchased at http://www.cropstop.com/). And that was it!! Thanks for the challenge.
