Ladybug Ladybug...hold my spot!

Over on the Project Tuesday blog, the project of the week is a Paperclip Bookmark. I already made a couple that you can see in THIS POST.

My daughter grabbed the frog and a friend of hers grabbed the flower. Since they were such a hit, I opted to make another one. So besides Project Tuesday, over at the ABC Challenge blog they asked for "Not a Card" - they're on N. Since this is obviously not a card, I figure I am good on that challenge as well!

Stamps & Smiles Release - Day #2

Back again!! Quick post tonight though - got a few more things I really HAVE TO accomplish before I head off to Dream-Land!

This is my Stamps & Smiles card for the Day #2 Sketch Challenge for their release week. You can see the sketch HERE.

I made this card from my August '07 Apron Strings Designs kit. I love those kits - it's great to be able to just grab the bag and know it's all going to match and I don't need to search for it! The only thing I added not in the kit were the rhinestones. The flip flops were made with a BossKutz die from CropStop.com. Flowers are Prima. And I just ADORE that Doodlebug token!!

Project Tuesday - Stand Up Card

This week Project Tuesday challenged us to a Free Standing Pop Up card. I think it's a really CUTE project!! It took me long thought this week before I decided what I was going to do with mine. I have one other idea, so you might just seen another one. I will apologize now for the not so great picture. If I can get another one within the next day or so - I will replace it.

Yes - the pinwheel at the top does spin! I even added an extra piece of peach cardstock so it looked like it had the stick!!

My niece's birthday is this month, so this card will go to her. Since she's only going to be 5, I doubt she'll appreciate it - except for maybe the spinning pinwheel! (who am I kidding, she wants the gifts!)

Since there seemed to be SOOO many details on this one, I have listed all the information in my Supplies section below my signature. I don't always use that little feature, but I do have it! (Thanks Sara!!)

Stripes, Polka Dots & Pink...and some Scallops!

This week's challenge over at Card-a-Licious is to make a Thank You card and to use Stripes, Polka Dots & Pink!! Now the stripes and polka dots are in the flower - there is also pink in the flower, as well as the matting - it is a raspberry pink, but it's still pink. I would assume it counts!

Next - it's a challenge over at Creative Inspirations to make a card using Scallops!! Well, there are bunches of scallops on this card!

I am just LOVING these flowers!! I originally saw flowers like these on Jenn Buck's blog -they are by Prima I believe and they were $2.99 for two of them. Of course, being as crafty as we are, I figured they had to be easy enough to make - so I did! If you go down a few posts, you will see where I used it to top off an Easter Box. Needless to say, mine end up being much cheaper (as you can make them with scraps) and I can make them into a perfect match! Now I used the scalloped nesting flowers from QuicKutz, but I think circles and some edge distressing would give you a much closer look to the originals, if that's what you're going for.



So I made this cute (and bright) thank you card, which is an exact CASE of the card I found on Jenn Buck's blog.

Paper Blooms & Cupcake Crafts!

Hey there!! This is my entry for week #2 of the Paper Blooms challenge as well as Week #34 of the Cupcake Crafts challenge! The Paper Blooms challenge this week is to create a box or basket for Easter. For Cupcake Crafts - anything with more than two folds. Now anybody who knows me KNOWS that I LOVE to make 3-D items, so this one was perfect for me.

The box is just an Oragami fold. I believe it's relatively basic. I have "developed" my size to fit Hershey's nuggets. You can get a dozen of them in this box, but I just threw in Easter Rolos for the pictures. I didn't have any nuggets and obviously you can put whatever you want in the box.




I have been seeing the "lollipop" flowers everywhere and I love them!! I think Prima makes them (probably out of a more flower-type material) but I made mine using the QuicKutz Nesting flower dies. You could probably use the Scalloped Nestibilites or even the regular circles and possibly distress the edges slightly. I just wet the papers slightly and crumpled them to get the texture.

Anyway, the papers and my Nesting dies are all from CropStop.com. The papers are part of the CropStop January Crafty Kit. The brad in the center is from Doodlebug and the Easter Wishes stamp is from PTI.

Paper Blooms - Challenge #1

I was blurfing...you know how that goes...jump from one blog to another and pretty soon you don't know where you are or how you got there. Well, that happened to me tonight and I happened across a blog called Paper Blooms that was issuing Challenge #1!! I was so excited...nothing I like better than a challenge!!


It was two parts - sketch and color. The color challenge was lavender, green and white or cream. I always prefer cream to white, so here it is. I am also usually a clean and simple kind of person and this does have that clean and simple look, but MORE than my usual. LOL

So I did a folded ribbon technique and the flower center is made from Dew Drops - purchased at CropStop.com along with my 3-D QuicKutz die, but I can't help it - I LOVE THEM!! And since this challenge was issued by Paper Blooms, I figured a Paper Bloom would be appropriate (at least that is how I validated it to myself). I also put that paper bloom through my Cuttlebug using the Script embossing folder and popped it all up on foam dots! The sentiment is from Verve. Cardstock and ribbon are both CTMH. And I think that's about all there is to say about this one.

I am not 100% sure I LOVE the way it came out, but it's growing on me! Thanks for stopping by and I did actually post a little party favor a little bit earlier today, so be sure to scroll down to see it. It was EPLS!

Unity Hip Hop Challenge

Today's challenge over at the Unity Hip Hip was three layers and three colors - no more, you could do less. Which makes me ask - how do you truly count a layer?!?!


At most this card would be three layers - leaf, flower, flower center. This card was created with one of the new 3-D QuicKutz dies - which I am TRULY LOVING!! The stamp, of course, is Unity. It's from the March Kit of the Month which I personally just got in yesterday! I have seen SOOOO many great creations with it throughout the month that I just had to have it!

I thought the simple sentiment was perfect for my simple card!

The papers are from an Apron Strings Designs kit - the same kit actually that I used in the post below (if you can believe it). The ink is CTMH Garden Green and the base is actually a premade base from DCWV.

I made this card this morning in literally 10 minutes!! Hope you like it and as always - thanks for taking the time to vising my blog!

Welcome Back Mojo! Time for a 2-fer!!

Hey there and welcome back! If this is your first time here - welcome! You're in luck, because my Mojo is now working just fine!!

I have a new card to share this evening - it's a challenge two-fer!! First, it's this weeks (#36)color challenge from the Color Throwdown blog (pink, orange and turquoise) and it's also this week's sketch challenge for CPS! On top of that I was able to use my Clear Dollar Stamps for which I am a past guest designer for, and I also used an Apron Strings Designs kit to make it! So all in all, it was pretty productive all around! Oh - and I used my nestibilites which were purchased, as always, from CropStop.com.

It's a nice bright perky card - it's a get well card for my daughter. She's 17 and has had abdominal pain for almost a week now and unfortunately the pain isn't getting better. She actually has to go for a colonoscopy and an endoscopy. Luckily she doesn't read my blog or she'd probably kill me for putting that information into blogland for all the world to see. I won't tell her if you don't! :) LOL

Anyway - I am liking it and I hope you do too!

Now - if you review my blog, you will find that I am not really a stamper - I am definitely a scrapper! However, I do have "my share" of stamps - and I do look through all the wonderful stamp blogs out there - as they are full of beautiful art and I can often use a card sketch for a scrapbook page. In this particular case - I did use the card sketch for a card.

This card is for my son Devin's birthday. He'll be 7 on Saturday - and I had this BRILLIANT idea (if I do say so myself) for his card - using Amy R's Sketch #63. Take a look:


The pinwheel is made using a QuicKutz 3-D die that came out in February (I think). I got it from CropStop - as I do with ALL of my QK dies. The ribbon is American Crafts, the papers is part of the Apron Strings Designs February kit and is from the Night Light line by October Afternoon and the sentiment is part of the AmyR stamp set Boutique Sentiments. Brads are Doodlebug Sugar Coated - also from CropStop.

I hope you like it - and more than that - I hope Devin likes it!!

CAS Challenge!

I love a challenge! Especially those that challenge you to be simple! Simple is not always easy...

Jenn Buck is one of my favorites for simple - her term EPLS (easy peazy lemon squeezy). You'll have to ask her where it came from! LOL I love her blog and am inspired EVERY TIME I go there -- which is often!!! Anyway - she started a new challenge and as soon as I saw it I KNEW I had to participate. So here it is....click on her name and it'll take you to her blog so you can see the challenge yourself if you'd like!

The black and orange cardstock came out of an Apron Strings Designs kit. The stamp is Unity. The ribbon from the stash; flower and lettering (QK Chickadee alphabet) are both from CropStop.com.

Monsters Monsters Monsters

Well, I have absolutely had NO time to create in such a long time! Today I got called out of work because my son was sick - I got him settled on the couch and then got busy on this little Kaiser Craft tag album!! All the papers are from my February Apron Strings Designs kits (they might have some left if you check!) The papers are by October Afternoon and are called Night Light - all little monsters!! I did buy the additional sheet of cardstock die cuts to go with it!

I didn't add much to the kit - I used Unity Stamps "Cuter than Most" set - which is also monsters, I added Kaiser Craft black pearls and I think that was about it! I love the way the album came out!! I might get a big ring for it instead of leaving it on the ribbon, but that's about all I would probably do to "finish" it! It's probably fine as it, but you know how it is when you get an idea in your head!! LOL

Also, CropStop is sponsoring a challenge over at Letters to Scrap By and the challenge is to use Lime Green - they're on the letter L. This little album has quite a bit of Lime Green in it - so I figure I am good to go!

So all in all, it was a pretty creative day!! And there were lots of pictures for you! Hope you like it and as always, thanks for stopping by! Hopefully it won't be another 2-3 weeks before I blog again!! (it probably won't be that long - my daughter now wants me to do one of these for HER!)

These are the last of my layouts using the Apron Strings Designs February kit. Of course, I could make more - I still have more supplies left over! The kit is jam packed!!!!



Everything you see here was in the kit. I used the QuicKutz Yogurt Alphabet for the word LOVE and the 4x8 QuicKutz Storybook alphabet for "is the key". The key came as naked chipboard and I just inked it up and placed it on there! Love this layout - these pictures are once again of my lovely daughter!

Apron Strings Designs - MORE MORE MORE!

Okay - I promised you more...so here it is! :)

The Apron Strings Designs kits are LOADED so as you can see, there's lots to show you! These two layouts are actually 12" x 12" - which is not my usual size. However, in every ASD kit, there's a sketch included. These two layouts use the sketch that is included in the February kit.

These are once again photographs of my daughter at her cheerleading competition. You'll probably see more, but the good news is - competitions end on March 8th, so we are almost through Cheerleading Season! LOL (As this post hits my blog, I will be on my way to a cheerleading competition in Connecticut and will probably be there ALL DAY!)

CropStop Challenge!!

It is once again Friday - and that means a challenge over on the CropStop Message Board! This week it's my week to host the challenge and I ask that you make a "Scrapling!". You may have seen them on my blog before and I'm back with more.

Scraplings are little cards that use only scraps. So when you trim a couple of inches off the edge of your paper, that should be your card base. These little cards are great to stick in your kids lunch, a pick me up for a friend, etc. Somebody suggested they could be made into placecards.

So - onto the challenge!!! The challenge this week is make your scrapling (mine are 2" x 4.25" in size) using ONLY scraps from your stash, you must use a diecut (As I am the QuicKutz Specialist for CropStop, I would of course prefer if you use a QK die, but all are acceptable! LOL) and since tomorrow is Valentine's Day, you must use either red or pink - you do not, however, need to make it into a Valentine Card, although mine are.

All the dies I used on mine are from CropStop.com, as is that pretty pink swirly ribbon! So hop on over to CropStop.com and load your pictures in!! We'd love to see you over there!
