Scrap Schemes

It's Thursday and that means a new layout for ScrapSchemes!! When I saw the picture, all I could see were balloons! And as you look at the photo, I am sure you know exactly what I mean.

This week, I took my inspiration from the layout of the photo - the line of balloons being my embellishments below the photo and the sun (or son - lol) being the photo.

Here's the inspiration piece:

Here's my layout! I hope you like it - it's another step into the world of digital!! The kit is once again by Flergs and it's called Deacon's Closet.

As always, thanks for stopping by!!

A Sketch & Some Inspiration...

It's Thursday and to me, that means a couple of things!

First - Stamps & Smiles Weekly Sketch Challenge by the Fresh Batch. Today Mercy had a very cute sketch to work with, but with my mojo not running quite right, I was stumped! (I hate that!) And then...although still not quite up to par on the Mojo, I decided to combine it with this week's Project Tuesday challenge, which is an Oragami Box - very very simple! It's really just a square sheet of paper with a couple of folds - if you have never played with us at Project Tuesday, this would be a GREAT one to try! Anyway - I digress!

So I combined my two Stamps & Smiles challenges and came up with this cute little box! Unfortunately, there's not to much stamping going on and I didn't get overly frilly with it (I wanted it to travel well). I think it came out pretty well, but I do think it might be missing something. (if you can think of something, let me know and I would be more than happy to adjust!)

The second thing Thursday means to me is SCRAPSCHEMES!!!

ScrapShemes is a an every other Thursday Inspirational Challenge.

Here's the layout I did for the challenge. It was done using an Apron Strings Design kit! I thought it went well with the inspiration - which you can find HERE!

So go check out Stamps & Smiles Sketch, Project Tuesday & ScrapSchemes!!! They're all TONS OF FUN and have their challenges going on now!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Did you see my new blinkies?!?!?

I have a TWO new blinkies on my sidebar!

I am now a DESIGN TEAM MEMBER FOR:

and also a brand new DESIGN TEAM MEMBER for:

Jennifer at Stamps & Smiles asked me to be on the team a couple of weeks ago and of course I said YES!!! I love Project Tuesday and the great items I get to create! I have linked up all the other Design Team members as well. Their links are right under the blinkie.

Katy over at ScrapSchemes emailed me not 3 days later asking me to join the Schemers over at ScrapSchemes. They have great inspirational pieces over there, so again I said YES! Every other Thursday they have a new inspirational piece, so you have time to get in on this week's inspiration, so be sure to pay them a visit!

I am soooo excited to be a part of both teams!! This week, however, I am still a participant. Next week will be my first official DT Assignment for both. In honor of this, I made one piece to incorporate both my new teams.

On Project Tuesday, the project is a Peek-A-Boo Treat Holder. It was very easy to make. I actually made the ribbon go all the way around mine in order for the bow to hold it shut. Obviously, you probably wouldn't want to use this much ribbon if you were making tons of them, but for a couple it's great!

If you follow THIS LINK to the ScrapSchemes blog, you will see the inspiration. I was inspired by the beautiful bright colors and of course the daisies - which happen to be my favorite flower!

This is the outside. The For You...sentiment is from Stamps & Smiles (Of course!). I just blinged it up a little bit and you have a little treat to give for just about any occasion!

Here's a peek at when it's first opened. I used my SU Scalloped Circle punch to cut out the "daisy" and then a circle Nestibility to cut through the two layers. Mine is a little larger than the directions. Mine is 4" wide.

And here's the inside, which I left relatively blank for a personal note and signature. The peppermint patty fit perfectly in the window!

So that's my exciting news!! I hope you will join us for the challenges over at both blog this week!

Two more cards...several more challenges

I have two cards to show you tonight! They both represent a couple of challenges. I very rarely do a card for only one challenge and these are no exception!! This first one hits three!

This lovely pink & brown card is for the following:
  • 365 requested something musical. Now this was kind of a challenge. I read it first thing this morning so I was able to think. I remembered the Verve stamp about half way through the day. (I love Verve sentiments!) So then I just needed to find something musical. I will thank Patter Cross on this one!! These musical chipboard pieces were part of the candy I won a few weeks back on Triple the Sketch's One Year Anniversary!
  • The second challenge it is for is Card*a*licious. They requested pink, brown & scallops. I hit all three with this one. Good thing too, since that was the challenge!
  • Lastly, it is Jen's SFYTT. I saw the sketch this week and wanted to try it. This worked perfectly.

Now this card hits two challenges:
  • This is for Kazan's 2 Sketches 4 U #26. It's been a while since I have played over at 2 Sketches. It's actually upside down.
  • It is also for the Scrap Schemes. They have a beautiful inspiration piece up on their site. You should go check it out!

And that's all for these two cards! I will definitely be back with more tomorrow - possibly even tonight! Don't forget to check out the BLOG CANDY on THIS POST!!
