A Dinosaur and a Space Robot....

Sounds like the start of a bad joke, huh? Well - it's not! Just an odd title for a blog post!! Two things for you today - first up - I am still Guest Designer over at The Shoe! And today they have their sketch challenge - here's my take on it!

It uses the new Boom Boom kit from Ziggle Designs. Isn't it just the cutest?!?! And that's my little boy, who fell asleep on the couch. In this picture, although you can't see it - he's actually kneeling on the floor!! It always amazes me how kids can sleep! Be sure to check out what the rest of the Design Team did with the sketch!!

Next up - Ziggle and Geeky Diva again! This time it's a kit called Rocket-Doodle-2 from Ziggle and a new Tag Bag template from Kim over at Geeky Diva! The Rocket-Doodle-2 kit is adorable and perfect for those little boys - no matter what they're doing! The templates for these Tag Bags are perfect for little party favors and is actually a perfect size if you wanted to use it as the "wrap" for a gift card!

So based on this post, here's what you need to do!!
Thanks for stopping by....more for you tomorrow!!

Laugh

I must apologize!! I am SOOOO late posting this!! I had the pictures in the post and was almost finished - did all my linking, etc. and realized I was working on the stuff for MONDAY's post!!! OOPS! Well, at least I hadn't posted it yet!!

Anyway - my apologies to the girls at The Shoe!! Today they're having their color challenge and it's FUSCHIA & LIME! I love the combo, however, finding supplies for it was something else entirely!!

Here's what I came up with:

Totally adore how this layout came out!! Here are the details for it:
  • It's digital - kit used: Bamboozled by Libby W. at SSD
  • Template belongs to Chrissy W - I think...I will verify (It is!!)
  • This layout was actually made for a Speed Scrap over at Scrap Matters! SUCH FUN!!

And that's about it - be sure to run over to If the Shoe Fits and see what the rest of the Design Team did with this color combo!!

My Month at The Shoe!

Good morning!! Hope everything is well in your neck of the woods!! It's August and I am the Guest Designer over at If the Shoe Fits, Scrap It! They have challenges ever Monday, Wednesday and Friday, so be sure to stop by and see them! The Monday challenge is always a sketch, and this is my take on it!

Here's the sketch:

As many of you know - I am now deep into digital! And I am truly loving it! Might make me give up paper scrapping altogether, but we will see!

This layout was made using a kit call Get Your Happy On by LCC by Amy Stoffel. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the colors in this kit. The alphabet is actually from her I'm This Many kit and both can be found over at ScrapOrchard. The font is by Darcy Baldwin and is called Angel Baby.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Be sure to head over to The Shoe and see what the rest of the girls have to show you!!

The Fresh Batch!

Hey there everybody!! It's Thursday - and you know what that means! Another sketch for the Fresh Batch to work on! And we definitely have a Fresh Batch this week - so be sure to stop by the Stamps & Smiles blog and check them out!! We have a NEW FANTABULOUS Sketch Artist this week - DALIS!!! She drew us a fabulous sketch - which you can see HERE. This is my take on it!

You know this would have to hit at least one other challenge right? Because as you all know - it's what I do! LOL

And that's it for me - be sure to come back - I always have MORE to show you!!

HB2U

I am not feel the mojo all that much tonight. I did make this one card as I am behind on my 365 Cards challenges! I am thinking it's cute, but needs something. Tell me - how do you get your MOJO back?!?! Hopefully it'll return on it's own tomorrow.

For challenges - this card will do it's work here:

Thanks for stopping by....I gotta to look for the Mojo! LOL

Oh Mr. Sun...

Sun, Mr. Golden Sun - Please shine down on me!!! Since we haven't seen the sun here in a few days, it'd be appropriate! Now, I like the rain, but part of my brain must have been saying SUN SUN Where are you!?!?!

I am thinking this is one of those cards that was better in my brain than on paper - I am thinking it's missing something, but still relatively cute.

Challenges:

And that's it for me this weekend!! I think I am going to hit the hay early tonight!

Dragonfly Journey

I participate in 365 Cards challenges a LOT! One of the girls over there has blog candy and you need to participate in order to be entered. This is my take on the sketch, as well as my entry for her blog candy. You had to use a dragonfly on your card to be entered. I am not 100% sure this is what she had in mind for her dragonflies, but.....

Now - here's the details for this one. I try to do all 7 of them each week and since I have a habit of putting 3, 4, even 5 challenges on any given card - 365 Cards gives me at least one challenge I can incorporate everyday. Since I feel the theory behind 365 Cards is to make a card each day, I don't usually put more than one 365 Cards challenge on any given card. This one I made the exception for - but only because I already did the sketch challenge this week. So I did do a separate card for it. Anyway, all that being said - here's the challenges this card incorporates:

  • This week one of the challenges was to incorporate three 365 Challenges into your card - one from each March, April & May. I chose March 18 - Going green - make green the dominant color on the card, April 28 - Miss you type sentiment - I felt "wish you were here" not only fit, but was comical on this particular card and May 22, which was to make a matching envelope.
  • This is also the Super Sketchy Sunday sketch from 365 Cards this week - with the dragonflies in order to be entered for the blog candy.
  • Once again, Flourishes Timeless Tuesday asked for us to use Patterned Paper.
  • Last but certainly not least, If the Shoe Fits asked for green, blue and yellow as a color combination.
On Saturday - two challenges came up that this card was so fitting for that I did link it to them, although I will probably do another card for each of them so that I am within the timeframe. But those two challenges are:
Lastly, I must note - the idea behind this card was not mind. Credit for the actual idea goes to Dalis - I can only take credit for actually putting the idea on paper!

A bunch of cards...

and I have to tell you I am not in love with any of them. My mojo is just not working very well tonight, but they're not bad, but all quite simple and cute. I am just not thinking "spectacular" today. But since I know we are all our own worst critics and I don't HATE them...here they are! And to my surprise, some of them are one challenge cards.

This first one is for 365 Cards - they asked for veggies on a card. My only salvation on this one is I went to the stamp store today and asked "do you have any paper with vegetables on it?" and this is why I got! It's by Flair Designs and I really do think this one came out pretty cute. This is also an anniversary card - which was requested by If the Shoe Fits. I forgot to take the photo of the inside, which says "Anniversary Wishes". (One of my Verve sets!) And of course this one also works for the PILE IT ON Challenge - as it has a Non-Stamped Sentiment!

This one is for Lesley! She challenged me to do the Color Challenge over at SCS this week. It was a one layer white card. You were allowed to use ONE other color and no other colored cardstock. This is the one that really reminds me that I am not a stamper! It's really all purple, although I think the ribbon kind of looks black. It's really a true purple. (And Lesley - I want you to know this is like the 6th variation - I won't mention the one that I was almost finished with and stamped the sentiment upside-down!!!)

This is for the 365 Cards Color challenge to use BOLD colors of red, blue, green, orange and yellow! Lucky for me, I had this school pad from DCWV. And you can't see it in the photos, but some of those apples are all sparkly.

Last but certainly not least - my Thanks! Owl. This one is for the Color Throwdown today and is also for Jen's SFYTT. The owl, however, I can't take any credit for. My friend Dalis had made THIS card, and I loved it -but she wouldn't part with it. What she did do, however, was send me four of these cute little owls as a "print". I assume she scanned her card and somehow wiped out everything but the owl. Don't know for sure - she's the computer wizard!

I am going to go back to the scrap table and see if I can't find some mojo! I have one more card to make that HAS to be made tonight...so I am gonna think on that one!

Thanks for stopping by!

Pink & Green and....

yellow and brown! That's what happens when you have color challenges that are similar! You get a lot of the same color in one post!! I am liking both of these cards - and I might try to squeak another one out tonight, but who knows! It's almost 11pm here so....

This first one has 3 challenges (I think - I could be wrong - we'll see in a minute! LOL)
  • It was created using this weeks CPS sketch.
  • The pink & green color combination comes from If the Shoe Fits...
  • The wedding theme was requested by Stamp Something
  • Dutch Dare requested decorating the inside of the card. - I actually decorated the inside of the card below, which you can see from the side, but I didn't take a separate picture of it.
And I was obviously wrong - as I hit four challenges on the top one! Oh well...NEXT!! LOL The next one also hits several challenges - and below the photo it will tell you what they are!

  • This on is for the Color Throwdown. You can truly see the pink, green and chocolate on this card!
  • Flourishes is having an Easy Peezy Challenge (that's what they called it anyway) and it was to make a 10 minute card. The only time I didn't count in this was the time it took me to find the bone folder, and the adhesive and the.....lol on my very messy table!
  • Getting Creative with Ann asked for Clean & Simple. Although there are three layers here - it's definitely CAS.
  • Three Clovers asked for Cards for Dad (or men) and you had to use metal. So I got my brads in on this one! The top three are not brads they are almost like a metal-looking self adhesive pearl.
  • Charisma Cards asked for pink and brown.
  • Last but certainly not least, 365 Cards asked for Diamonds as the focal point. I am thinking they're pretty focal.

So not too shabby - 4 on one, 7 on the other (as I did decorate the inside - but didn't list it again!)

As I continue to pile on my challenges - I need to remind you of the new challenge blog that is coming on Sunday - PILE IT ON! I understand that if you become a follower (nothing else) you will be eligible for blog candy!! So run on over there, become a follower, and on Sunday you'll see a new challenge come up!

Thanks for stopping by!

I've Got My Eye On You!!!

I am loving this cute little card!! Sometimes I make a card and don't particularly care for it, but this one I do! I am thinking it would be REALLY cute for the little boys!

And of course you know there are details details details!
  • 365 Cards asked for "eye" on a card. They were doing a whole Cutting Cafe week and had fruit - and apple to be specific, so I think most people went with the Apply of my Eye thing. I had this cute little stamp from Unity and in the circle it made me think of the moon!
  • Flourish's Timeless Tuesday challenge was sponging - it gave the planet a lot of depth I think.
  • If The Shoe Fits is really who got this card started. They had an ad inspired challenge that you can see HERE. All I really saw was the black background and outer space elements.
  • Daring Cardmakers asked us to Take 5. Use five of "something" on a card. In my case, it's the five rhinestones on the planet.

I am sure there will be more coming this weekend! I think I have one more for 365 this week...and a few others that I want to get to. Hope to see you back here soon!

No Surprise Here....

I made a card tonight - not really a surprise.
It incorporates several challenges - again, not really a surprise!

So anyway - after that lack of surprise - here are the details:
  • The sketch is this week's Stamps & Smiles sketch from the Fresh Batch - sort of! I went a LITTLE big on the little side element - in my case - the balloon! So I will just say that the sketch inspired this card - that's what it's all about right??
  • 365 Cards asked for two colors - in this case turquoise and orange
  • If the Shoe Fits Color challenge today was black, orange and turquoise - actually, I think it said teal, but it was really turquoise on the screen, so....
  • Our Creative Corner asked for the sentiment as a focal image - not totally sure the balloon doesn't "over-impose" on the sentiment, but...you be the judge!
  • Cute Card Thursday (new challenge for me) asked for bling! Now, I definitely got this one - the Kaiser Craft rhinestones in the corner and you probably can't tell but I glittered the balloon with my stardust pen.
And that's my story and I am sticking to it! :)

It's All Black & White

I had actually started this card for the Black & White challenge over at If The Shoe Fits, but it wasn't working for me so I put it aside and did something else, but this white vase and flowers kept calling to me! So I worked on it and came up with this....

I also found some beautiful soap (and since soap is what I do for a living - I know soap! LOL) in the Etsy Inspired Challenge over at Heart Hugs. This week's shop is SunBasilGarden. Here's my inspirational piece:

And last, but certainly not least, in my challenge search, I found Ann's Creative Nook was also doing a black and white challenge. I did read the challenge correctly, however when I started to working, my brain obviously ignored the fact that she stated another color could be used. I am going to link it up for her to see anyway, but I am not totally in compliance with the challenge. I will obviously have to follow directions better next time! In my defense - her title does say "It's All Black & White" LOL

Thanks for stopping by!

Black & White

Over at the Shoe - they asked for Black & White - that's it! Not black & white plus one - just black and white! They said if you scrapped, even the photo had to be black and white. So - here it is! Mostly white - the only black comes from the photo.

I am very pleased with this layout!! That is my son when he was about 8 months old.

I also decided to do a card. I assure you the sentiment is straight, but no matter how I photographed it, it looked crooked, so here it is....

I just have to say that it's VERY UNFAIR to take COLOR away!! But I am really loving that big black & white bow!

However, I did get this into more than just the Shoe's Challenge! LOL Over at the Creative Card Crew, they asked for a shape. So by way of my Nestibility dies, I have a lovely shaped card!

And last but certainly not least, 365 Cards said to Make It Match! - they asked for a matching envelope. Not sure how well this would hold up if I had to mail it, as it is ribbon, but...it does match!

There's more coming...

Two cards....

6 challenges!!

You know me - can't just make one card for one challenge! That would be WAY too easy! LOL So here I go again. I have two cards to show you tonight.

Don't you just love this stamp?? Her name is Emma and she's from All That Scraps. I am not usually a stamper, but I think I did pretty good on this one. I picked it up in the digital form, as I am also not really a beach person, so I thought I would use this one on a limited basis, so I figured digital was PERFECT!

Here are the challenges for little Emma!
  • ABC Challenge blog asked for Orderly - they're on the letter O. It appeared to be defined as symmetrical - so a rhinestone in each corner, bow on each side, focal point centered.
  • If The Shoe Fits... asked for a beach theme - obviously Emma is perfect for this one!
  • Dutch Dare asked for bling/glitter - it's got my pretty blue rhinestones in each corner

My second card also covers a couple of challenges. I couldn't decide on this one whether I would use it vertically or horizontally, so this one specifically has no sentiment for that reason. (Unlike Emma, who I just wasn't sure how I'd use.) So I took two pictures so you could see it both horizontally and vertically.

  • Christian Paper Crafts Magazine had a color challenge of Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red and Pirouette pink.
  • Over at CCEE Stampers (another new challenge for me) they requested specialty papers. I have been using a lot of glittered cardstock lately, so I jumped right into this one.
  • 365 Cards asked for decorative edges, so I pulled out my Long Nestibility Rectangles and scalloped three sides for them.

So while these two cards are covering all those challenges, I need to go work on a couple of other things to show you...and don't forget that I still have BLOG CANDY open!! Go to THIS POST! You have until tomorrow....

And one more thing....there's a NEW CHALLENGE BLOG coming! Watch for it.....

Monogram for Me!

As we all know, when we normally make cards, they're not made for ourselves - they are made for somebody else. Well, over at The Pink Elephant this week, they asked for a Monogram. So I figured, what the heck - about time I make one for me!

And I am sure you all realize by now that this will hit a couple of challenges...four to be exact!

  • As stated above - The Pink Elephant asked for a Monogram. This particular monogram was made from the QuicKutz Moxie alphabet.
  • The layout is the sketch challenge over at Eat, Sleep, Stamp this week
  • Over at If the Shoe Fits - there's a Negative Die Cut challenge going on. As you can see, I used the negative on the V and popped it up so the white would show through. This is however I forum challenge, but it's well worth joining!
  • Last, but certainly not least, another challenge blog for me - Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge blog asked for glitter - in whatever form you choose! I hope you can see it but both the background cardstock as well as the bright pink of my V and flourishes is all glittered.

An Inspiration Shoe Challenge

If you're here for the Unity Stamp Blog Hop - CLICK HERE
If you're here for the Apron Strings Blog Hop - CLICK HERE

Onward....LOL

Over at If the Shoe Fits...they are having an insprational challenge. You can see the challenge and the inspiration HERE.

I had originally seen these lollipop flowers on somebody's blog (on a card) and they had purchased them. I figured I could make my own with no problem - and they're EASY!! I just use my Nestibility circles, in this case - every other one black and white. They you just wet and crumple the flowers (for texture) and then flatten them out. They'll dry with some crumpliness to them (no I do not know if crumpliness is actually a word - I would guess no - LOL)

Here's a detail shot so you can see the crumpliness in all it's glory!

That's it for this one - a one challenge card! Hard to believe, huh??

Pink & Grey Thank you!

Back to our regularly scheduled program....

It's Friday!! YAY!!!! You know what that means - I new color challenge over at the Shoe as well as a new challenge over at the Stamp Something blog. So - here it is:

And here are some of the details:

  • Over at If the Shoe Fits...the Friday color challenge is Pink, Grey & White! I actually had to think before I hopped into this one, but I do like the results.
  • Stamp Something asked for a Clean & Simple thank you card. CAS I can do!

I will definitely be back with more!

Time to pick it apart...

I love this layout!! Better yet - so does my daughter - she keeps looking at it and saying "I Love It". Now - that makes it all worth it!! I personally am liking all that white space!

Over at If the Shoe Fits...there's a challenge. (You're surprised I know! LOL) You had to take the five favorite layouts of the design team, take an element from each one, and create you own. This is my version of that. I apologize for the glare on the photo.

So - here's how it works out:
  • From Tracey - "Beautiful"
  • From Tanisha - the butterflies
  • From Lesley - the glitter letters
  • From Kristy - the general layout
  • From Dawn - the black and white

Head on over there and look at their layouts and give this challenge a try!

Hero's Challenge

Over at If the Shoe Fits...(yes I have been there a lot - I LOVE that site) I was actually invited to participate in a challenge. It's called the Hero's Challenge and it is in honor of Armed Forces Day on May 16th. Here's what I came up with:

I personally do not have anybody I know in the Armed Forces. I am, however, VERY patriotic. The challenge was to make a card or layout that celebrates the Hero in your life. I believe all of those in are Armed Forces are heros everyday.

This set was under the premise of cards a soldier could use to write a quick note to whomever. The cards are a flat one layer, not folded. There are six of them - three vertical and three horizontal.

The details: stamps are Kim Hughes Cornish Heritage Farms and the ribbon is Doodlebug Uncle Sam (very appropriately named for this challenge).

So with these cards, I salute our Soldiers in the Armed Forces and thank them for the freedom they give us by serving our country.

On a totally un-patriotic note....remember to check out my BLOG CANDY. Just leave a comment on the blog candy post AND watch my visitor counter and you could WIN!!!
