Party Favor anyone???

Happy Saturday everybody! Who wants to party?!?!? Okay, so we're not really going to party, we just going to talk about party favors. LOL

Okay - first one up - another sour cream favor (yes, they're a "thing" right now)...they also happen to be this week's project over at the Project Tuesday blog!

Today's favor is to talk about today's Heart Hugs Etsy Inspired Challenge. The shop today is called Artistic Flair, and you can find my inspirational piece HERE. They make all sorts of art pieces out of stained glass!

I also must say at this point that I have had a lot of fun being on the Etsy Inspired Team for the month of July! This is my last project as their Guest Designer and all the girlson the DT have been great!! Be sure to stop by their blogs as well as the Heart Hugs blog and play along!!

This piece is mostly digital!! It comes from the July Collab over at Pretty Scrappy and is called Drama King. This kit is HUGE!! Great for the young boys in your life!

Next up....Danielle Corbitt Designs. Saturday is Hybrid Day over at the Starlets blog, and here is my project that will be featured.

These are three simple party favors that can be made quickly and easily! There's my current sour cream container favorite favor, then the other two are just wraps - I used the JUMBO Reese's peanut butter cup and one of the snack sized Hershey bars. You will see they all have the same scalloped tag on them, which says - Thanks for Coming. All of these were made using the Birthday Bash kit over at Danielle Corbitt Designs, which is available HERE. Of course, if you spend $10 in the store, you get it FREE!

And last - a layout to go with those cute little party favors. I am finally getting around to scrapping more and I am loving it! When I started papercrafting, all I did was scrap. Then I got around to making cards, now I am going digital! Although you will be seeing a lot of stuff from me (cards, etc) using my digital papers now - they're interchangeable you know!

Once again I used Danielle Corbitt's Birthday Bash kit and I also a template and "paper cutters" to make this layout! All those numbers on the side where made using a special clipping mask....isn't it great!! Both the template and clipping mask are made by Chrissy W Digitals.

As always, thanks for stopping by!!

Etsy Inspired #45

Hey there! It's Saturday and I am THRILLED to still be the guest designer over at Heart Hugs Etsy Inspired Challenge! Today's shop is called The Daily Pincushion. You can see my inspiration HERE.

I used by QK Die for the flower. Do you like that paper?? It's digital! It's in a kit called Peace, Love, Joy and was created by LCC by Amy Stoffel.

Of course you know this hits a few challenges and here they are:

I have more stuff to show you - a bunch of it using digital papers!
Thanks for stopping by!

Etsy Inspired -

Hi Again! It's Saturday and it's July - that means I am continuing my guest design stint over at Heart Hugs for the Etsy Inspired Challenge. This week's shop is Verbena Custom Blends and they make specialty soaps (feel like I'm at work! LOL) Unfortunately, our shopowner is on vacation for the week, so please check out her "sold" items for your inspiration. Here's mine:

I obviously picked up on the colors and the hearts - so here's the card:

And if you know me - I got a few more challenges into this one:

Thanks for visiting! They'll be more tomorrow so be sure to stop by!

Guess what???

I am the July Guest Designer over at Heart Hugs for the ETSY INSPIRED CHALLENGE!! Woooo Hoooo! Yay me!!! Anyway - enough of that! LOL
Let me show you my card - and I was even able to pile on the challenges!

  • Obviously - First and Foremost - Heart Hugs Etsy Inspired Challenge. This week's shop is called Which Goose. Everything is flowery! So although they have real looking elegant pieces, that's just not me. So I translated flowers into "Vicki Flowers" and this is what I cam up with.
  • 365 Cards - I am actually going to get two out of this one for 365 - which I don't normally do, but....there hasn't been a lot of time making cards lately, so....#124 - Something Digital - the blue daisy paper is digital. It comes from a shop called Funky Fairies and #126 - Red, White & Blue
  • Paper Play asked for flowers -the challenge is actually called Paper Roses. The flowers CANNOT be purchased - you had to make them. Mine is made from a QK die.
  • Color Chef #12 asked for Red, White & Blue
  • Three Clovers asked for Red, White & Blue
  • ABC - U is for - USA - again, to me, this translates into Red, White & Blue
  • Cuttlebug Spot - Celebrate Your Country. Now I know one of these CB challenge blogs requires you to use your Cuttlebug - and I did. I just happened to have been to cut out my QK flower! LOL :)
  • Crafty Creations asked for Celebrations! Now this card being what it is - it could be used for many different occasions.
  • Flutterby Wednesday #64 - open challenge - just use a butterfly
  • The Pink Elephant - Favorite Color Combo - this is my second card for them this week - both using Red, White & Blue. Also, although it doesn't really count, this was their sketch last week, so I figured I should not that too!! Loved it - just didn't have time to play it til now.
And that's all for this one! Thanks for stopping by!

It's All Black & White

I had actually started this card for the Black & White challenge over at If The Shoe Fits, but it wasn't working for me so I put it aside and did something else, but this white vase and flowers kept calling to me! So I worked on it and came up with this....

I also found some beautiful soap (and since soap is what I do for a living - I know soap! LOL) in the Etsy Inspired Challenge over at Heart Hugs. This week's shop is SunBasilGarden. Here's my inspirational piece:

And last, but certainly not least, in my challenge search, I found Ann's Creative Nook was also doing a black and white challenge. I did read the challenge correctly, however when I started to working, my brain obviously ignored the fact that she stated another color could be used. I am going to link it up for her to see anyway, but I am not totally in compliance with the challenge. I will obviously have to follow directions better next time! In my defense - her title does say "It's All Black & White" LOL

Thanks for stopping by!

More challenges down....

I think this card ended up pretty cute!! Etsy Inspired this week was a shop called Bealoo! They have really cute prints. I chose this ladybug print. I have to tell you when I originally chose it, the card I ended up with is NOT what I had in mind - but I like it. If you click the Etsy Inspired link, you will go right to the post and can check the shop out!!

So anyway - here's the card! I am loving all those dots!!

So here's the story for the card:
  • Etsy Inspired #35, Bealoo Shop (just in case you weren't paying attention when I said it at the beginning of the post - LOL)
  • 365 Cards - 365 had a recipe challenge (known as Tuesday's Trio) and asked for circles, scallops and bling! Check, check, check! Got all of those!
  • This also happens to be the Card Patterns sketch this week. This will actually be my second card for this sketch. You can see the first one HERE. (and just to toot my own horn - I made the top 5 last week for THIS card. You can see the Card Patterns post HERE!)
  • Sketches {by tamara} - Recipe Challenge #48 - Red, Round and Ric Rac. Now, in order to have made this particular challenge, I will need to show you the inside - which is below!

I don't always design on the inside and I hardly ever show it when I do! Well, I think I packed enough into this card!

Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to leave a comment on THIS post to be entered in for my BLOG CANDY!!

Etsy Inspired - Glenda!

This week's Etsy Inspired Challenge over at Heart Hugs is a shop called Adopt-A-Critter. I had a BLAST reading about all these critters, most specifically the Sydocians. They're cute and each have their own "uniqueness" to them.

I picked out Glenda. Here she is:

This is what is says for her: And what makes Glenda different from everyone else? She's beautiful in pink and glitter and knows there is no place like home.

So based on all of that - here's my card:

I would adopt Glenda myself, but fortunately for her, she has a home. But if you like her, there are more Sydocians that need homes over at Adopt-A-Critter, so you might want to go get one...I am thinking about it! LOL You can read the whole story about how they got here too!!

As always, thanks for stopping by! Can't wait to see you again!

Etsy Inspired #33

This week's Etsy Inspired Challenge is at a store called Opalescense. It is full of beautiful jewelry and hand-dyed yarns. She's got talent I tell you!

I actually based my card on two items in her shop:

I chose the earrings for the black and the white! I just adore black and white with a POP of color. Now - the butterfly is....well, it's a butterfly and I think just about everybody loves them. Plus those pieces have those beautiful pink beads - my POP of color! Of course, as you view the card, I would say it's definitely more than a pop, but...I'll let you be the judge.

I am not 100% sure I love this card. There's no sentiment, but I am not sure it needs one. I figured when I am ready to use it - I will add one.

***ETA - The butterfly is from a company called Twiddleybitz! They are out of Australia. I got them in a jar swap from a friend of mine. She is one of the DT Coordinators and sells them herself. If you head on over to Sherry's blog - she will be happy to help you if you leave her a comment or email her about them. Just tell her I sent you! :)

So anyway, that's my Etsy for the week. And hopefully I will create more for you tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by!

A lot of work for one little card....

I started making this cute little card and although I knew I was specifically setting it up for two challenges, I had seen another challenge around that I could fit it into - which is why it's a CIRCLE!

So - here's the deal.

  • Color Challenge - The challenge over at the Color Throwdown Blog today was - Black, Real Red and Barely Banana. Not being an SU girl, I made due with the red, yellow and black that I have! And you can do that - they tell you so! LOL

  • Next up - use a circle on your card for the Creative Card Crew. Not only is the card circular in shape, but I do of course have my white base layer, which is a circle, so I figure I am good on the one too!
  • Last, but certainly not least - Heart Hugs Designs. This is an etsy inspired challenge and we were led to this cute little shop with hand made silver jewelry in it. I chose this piece as my inspiration. (see below) And this challenge is also for a DT spot that I am still in the running for! Go check Ashley out - she picks the best shops!!!

And that's all of this card! A lot of work for one little card to do, huh? Stop back soon...there's still more challenges out there, so I am sure I will have more cards and layouts too!

Two Down....

...and I couldn't even begin to tell you how many to go! There are so many challenges out there - I don't even know where to begin!

This card is another I was able to make for two different challenges. The first is the Etsy Inspired Challenge over on Ashley's blog. The Etsy Shop this week is called Make Mine Mud! (Love the name). Anyway - it's filled with all sorts of cute pottery items. I actually chose two items for inspiration. Here they are:

Although I am sure it was not her intention - the first one gave me the "layout" of the card, the second one gave me the color pallette. So here's the card:

The details are relatively basic - that wonderful sentiment is from Verve (I LOVE their sentiments!!), flowers are Prima, ribbon is American Crafts, and the sugar coated brads are Doodlebug!

So, onto the second challenge this card is for. I found a new challenge blog called, Scrappy Frogs - now you HAVE to just love the name if nothing else! Their inspiration was this:

The new slice machine! Now - I actually have no urge to purchase one of these - but it worked right into my color scheme! Gotta love it when that happens.

Another important detail I almost forgot to mention, if you go to Make Mine Mud and make a purchase and mention the Etsy Inspired Challenge, she's give you a FREE pendant!!! Can't beat that!

So that's my double for today. Back to the shed to see what I create next!! As always, thanks for stopping by!!

Etsy Inspired - Birds...what else?!?!

I found Ashley's blog called Heart Hugs Designs. They do Etsy Inspired challenges. Now this is the first time I have participated in any Etsy Inspired Challenged but I just LOVED the inspiration!

The artist's name is Lauren Alexander and she does beautiful work - I love it all!! I am thinking about actually going back to her shop and buying a few of the prints inspired by her work. Her is the print that I chose as my inspirational piece:

I love everything about it - yellow is my favorite color and if you couldn't tell from my blogs - I just LOVE all the birds that are out there! Below is the card I made based on the artwork - which is called "Better Together".

I needed to capture all that yellow! Those are the smallest Prima flowers out there (I think anyway - I can't see them getting much smaller than that!!) I ran them through my little 'X' Xyron sticker machine and layered them on there. The larger flowers were in the stash - I don't know who makes them. The birds were made from a QuicKutz die. I marker-inked the stamp, so I could but part of the sentiment on the front and the other part inside the card. The whole sentiment, as I am sure you can guess, reads: "A little bird told me that it was your birthday." I have had this stamp for a while, but this is the first time I got it inky!

I really like the way the card came out - I think I capture it as much as I could - although I still like the original artwork better! I am really thinking of going back to her store and picking up this particular print.

As always - thank you for visiting.
